BENCH LOOKING OUT TO SEA ON THE KENT COAST
The sun rises
Nature’s light show plays out before me
Daylight reveals highways of the sea glistening on the horizon
Dover to Calais ferries dart between the wake of mammoth container ships
Walkers processionally pass by on their way to The Cliffs
Few pay me attention
An elderly woman with a walking stick stops
She leans on the convenient railings
Bidding me “good morning”

Stop, look inward.
Be aware by becoming still.
Notice your thoughts.
They are seeds.
Plant with care.
This may be difficult
because we want
progress quickly,
but even the longest journey
starts with
a single movement.

a single brick.
Just be.
Don't worry about failure or success.

The night is cold.
Oh how full shes appears tonight,
The moon.
she so shines bright.
All alone
she lights up the sky.
Some stars.
scattered near by.
Here i stand.

on this cold night.
To the stars and moon i look tonight.
The dark sea.
she splashes.
At my feet.
The silver sand.
she surrounds my toes.
