The Aftermath
Building brick walls
to climb
and pretend to fall
cutting short a lifetime
Bricks I haul
covered in grime
pushing back the urge to bawl
at the memories of war crimes.
I smile at passerbys
and give an enuthastic wave
pretending to not be shattered by
the man who dug my grave.
I'd rather see
the expected conclave
between myself and the galaxy

The Scalded Soldiers
The scalded soldiers
Slid over the top
Of the parched peak; waved,
Awaited the pop
Of reflexed wretchings -
The wretched allure;
Sweet shelling shrapnel
So bitter and pure.
Then dinning quiet but
Cliched tweeting; the
Eery aftermath
Of gorge filled eating.
The troops fall silent
'Til cries ring out and
Once more the trenches

Sticks
Sticks
The girl with the clothes hanger limbs
and hard, emaciated, haunting face
trips languidly down alabaster slopes
dressed in chiffon and gossamer threads.
A lightning pure flashflashflash bleaches features
already the shade of phantoms and
the dark socket depths of haunted eyes
are ablaze with a shimmer of flash bulbs.
Angular shoulder blades...
