Thanks for your comment, Hannah. Love, in all its variety, can only
help to make us feel better about ourselves. At least, I like to think so
in my old-fashioned way.

How true this is Don.
Celebrities almost cashing in on the misery of Corona, to get in on the act, while vulnerable people really suffer.
Very well expressed.

dk - partiality to alliteration stems from the richness of the English language and my fondness for rhythm. It's interesting that composer Stephen Sondheim (West Side Story etc.) held it in low regard whilst
Jerry Herman (Hello Dolly etc.) had no such qualms. I guess it's a
question of trying for the best effect in a given context. ?

I'd never share these 'flashbacks' if I thought they were 'just me'. I honestly feel we all have such silly, wonderful moments in our lives.
And sharing might raise a sympathetic smile. A 'people closeness'.

An informative "eye-opener" - thanks.
In naval terminology - the seaman's uniform of cap, jumper and bell-bottoms was "square-rigged" whilst the peaked cap, jacket and trousers worn by petty officers and above was termed "fore and aft rig.". As "fore and aft" covered the whole length of a sailing vessel,
it seems possible that this indicated authority over the whole length
length of a ship.
"Square" also seems to have some connotation with the those who
get together with rolled-up trouser legs - Masonic: "On the square".
Shakespeare used the word in his description of men preparing to fight - "Are you such fools as to square for this?" (as in "squaring up") - written in "Titus Andronicus". But I'm not inclined to offer to
square any account in pursuit of my observations! ?.

This lockdown could backfire because some people are saying they don't want to go back to work, they would rather spend time with their kids.
If the government gets to hear of it, whoosh, lockdown would be over.
But then, do they ever listen ?

Bleach kills 99% of all germs but it's that 1% we have to worry about.
Trump did recommend disinfectant but later said he was teasing the Media. Trying to get a reaction because he feels they are always against him. It's good you have immortalized this into poetry.

This is fascinating writing. Very relevant to what is happening with governments and science and the Virus.
It calls into play the ideas of forcing things onto people 'for their own good' among other things.
Enjoyed reading this.

Chuck Berry v Pink Floyd.
You made the right choice.
It still gives me great pleasure to relate to anyone who’ll listen that my first gig was was concert of a duo who were over 140 years old between them. They had 2 eyes and 3 legs.
Sonny Terry and Brownie McGee.

Yes, John, how the other half have to live and work. Our garden isn't looking too shabby this year, for a change. This poem was one of six or seven that I wrote in quick succession. I've stopped now, because I fear, for me at least, all this has become the 'new normal'. Take care and keep writing, if you can.
