When I have tears in my eyes they become wonky, and it has nothing to do with my lenses, cz I don't wear any specs, so wonky eyes for me I just had few moments back and every now and then....and then tears trickle down the cheek, travelling past my chin, onto the neck and then waterfalls down through my chest, wetting me up not down...hehe....laugh now, pillows drown, drenching oceans.

Pray for my wonkiness!!

The Covid family would like to thank WOL Management for inviting them onto their world stage. They apologise the father it producing a spot of bother at the moment.

I assured them our scientists would sort him out quickly. They were most grateful of my assurance. He can be a handful at times they said.

I was pleased little Covid 4 was on his best behaviour. We all know how 4-year-olds can be at times.

Thanks Don. I used to take care of the lady who inspired me to write this poem.. She suffered from Alzheimers and sadly passed away a year after I wrote this. This is one of my favourite poems and is the title of my poetry book.

I don't think anyone has the right to tell another what way to write or express themselves through poetry. It's a personal thing. I'm happy with this poem and the title and won't be changing it for anyone.

Like it or not. My writing is not for everyone. As you say, Don.. I'm in charge. ??

And all because his dear sweet wife

It's obvious in turmoil, M's life

We all hope things settle back to normal again soon. ...

Yes Brian, I, too, love Mr Micawber, really makes me laugh. It is SO difficult to write good comedy. Mr M also has some wonderful things to say about our art, poetry:

“Poetry makes life what lights and music do the stage.”
― Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers

and, you'll really like this one Brian:

“She dotes on poetry, sir. She adores it; I may say that her whole soul and mind are wound up, and entwined with it. She has produced some delightful pieces, herself, sir. You may have met with her 'Ode to an Expiring Frog,' sir.”
― Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers

Indeed Mark those are all ingredients as you say. A poetic sensibility does not necessarily rely heavily on any one aspect , but individuals can select their motivations and express them. I would like to think a good poem is multifaceted drawing us into new considerations. Not always achievable nor to some desirable. Thanks for your thoughts. !

Indeed not, MC. To hear the historical deniers you would think that Britain was the only country with a colonial past. There were also France, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Germany (uncharacteristically late), USA, Russia, Holland, Italy, the Mongols, the Romans, the Persians etc etc etc.
And thanks for the Like, Blackrose.

Jennifer,

What a difference, a cat, reciting a poem in the first person singular. Quite and achievement. Yet every line from beginning to end held my attention as it was injected with humour and so well written.

I award you the Feline Laureate for Poetry. Purrr.
Well done

Thank you for this

Brilliant! So many doctors and nurses have given their lives here to save patients. Most people seem to realise that it is selfish not going by the regulations, as you risk becoming another patient for the already overworked NHS. How well you put it.

The delight in poetry is that it allows one to rage, rave, reject, renounce, respect, revere and even revise -
and to adopt those varied aspects according to need or mood.
