To every lesson truth may be seen. To every fault we must rise above. our loss, the remembrance of love upon our mortal soul. The universe draws to you the frequency you hold in mind. to build your new temple in line with that of your birth, we must build a foundation of truth and love. And there you will stand in the living gift of the light.

A written poem
the heart may stir
its beauty in
a few kind words
A Poem is just
a thought transferred
the beauty is
that it occurred.

JD.,
Could I apply for a model on trial to see the results for myself. Is there an attachment to save the dirty words for possible inclusion at a later date? Perhaps the censor can be bypassed.
A novel idea well presented.
Thank you for this
Keith

So - I have "form"? In the quest for full and coolly considered
findings, perhaps. I reject and revile the tainted tendency towards
"trial by media" that feeds off preconceived prejudices and populist
posing. As for Keith's stats. in 2019,over 50 weeks, 38 US police
were shot dead on duty, a slightly lower figure that the 47 that
suffered a similar fate in 2018. In short, any call there to reported
criminal behaviour is to be taken very seriously indeed in a society
full of guns and unstable individuals who don't do as they're asked
and thus liable to respond in deadly fashion. My original comment
made a plea for proper procedural processes to be followed to a comprehensively considered verdict. I do not shrink from demanding that this happen whatever the pressure from various "interests" and their adherents. ? Otherwise, just who is
safe from those who convict and condemn without exhaustive legal process to conclusion? You? Me? Anyone?

This sounds an appealing project from someone who appears to be
an exact contemporary of mine. I have a number of books of photos
from my old stamping ground in the docklands of 1960's East End of
London and this collection looks likely to be a suitable companion.

Perhaps an upgraded model will spit out two poems, one containing all the accepted words, and the other containing all the removed words.

@julie callaghan; I have been struggling to get things written down and finished over recent months. Got quite a few half finished pieces but the words don't come to finish. I think I write from emotions too because the more my head gets twisted the easier the words come. I need to find away to channel poetry through positive thoughts rather from the negative mind. Happy New Year by the way and thank for taking the time to read my poems.....it means a lot ❤️

Thank you Kristian and Stephen and also Cathy and Keith for your unstinting support. And Aisha, dear Aisha, I nearly forgot your generosity - mea culpa, mea maxima culpa. And Aviva, yes, I chose the song to work with the poem. Both carry a message for the less-deceived reader, echoed in the words of Dante (born c.1265, Florence — died September 13/14, 1321). That great Italian poet, advised us thus:
“Do not be afraid; our fate
Cannot be taken from us; it is a gift.”
― Dante Alighieri, Inferno
This view, espoused by Dante, harks back to the central belief of Christians, that God took human form and allowed himself to be crucified at Golgotha. In the ninth hour of Christ's agony his words, recorded in both the new testament gospels and the old testament psalms, :"Eloi Eloi lama sabachthani?" "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" have echoed down the centuries. Few listen in this barbarous age as the Christians of the East cry out for help.

Also, thanks to everyone for all the Likes for this poem/song.
Stephen I may often dare to inflict my writing style upon the world but I am not nearly as confident to sing at anyone. I haven't got that great a voice and not enough vocal control either, I'm definitely not up to the task of performing this one, at least not with the imaginary tune that it currently has.

Poignant disillusionment and fragility of life and sense of eternity.
I'm not certain if that's what the poet intends but I am certain that its a very subtle and meaningful poem. I also really loved the audio track which happens to be a completely different song but mesmerising and beautifully sung. I'm wondering if it was intended and adds an additional dimension of loss, or just occurred by accident.

Another beautiful poem John. I especially like the verse, "a waxing moon lingers in the sky as centuries float by." It makes me think life is poetic despite the atrocities. ❤

The morning news already had me scared, and depressed today. then, a friend remarked that he has not lived in a more dangerous and uncertain world as now. then this...... Off to the Home improvement center for stronger door locks, and plywood to board up my windows. Keith, you have me scared out of my mind. For us, Inauguration Day, may be very unkind. I expect the worse, Our future is really in a bind. I pray for a better day, and have hope that tomorrow that is what we find.

In a colourful way I think you have revealed an aspect of human nature that can be unhelpful at best and destructive at worst Aviva. Sparing the time in your line indicates caring enough for the truth , but closed minds are the danger !
Good writing I reckon.

Thank you Stephen. Your comments are always so thoughtful and generous.
Funnily enough this morning when I posted it I couldn't recall the logic of the harsh desert, I decided to post it anyway thinking to trust my original inspiration this once.. now I remember which type of egg timer I was referring to and it all makes sense to me again. ?
But humorous anecdote aside, this is quite a harsh and difficult poem and I wasn't sure if anyone would like it. That being said, thanks also to everyone who has encouraged me by clicking 'Like' for the poem!
