A stern rebuke of colonialism?
I enjoyed it. Very rich in imagery, strong words, sounds with an appropriately bitter edge.
Is it about a specific, historical happening? I would be interested to know.
Thanks very much.

Hi Rosalind
I too loved this poem. It teases the mind (and heart?) into filling in the gaps between the words from one's own experience. For me, one to come back to.
It's early days for me too on this site. My experience, like yours, is confined to a couple of open mic evenings. The scene is confusing isn't it (-;

Hi Barrie,
thanks for your recent comment on my poem Daphne Demure. Yes i do seem to include some fraudian phrases in lots of my work. I think it must be something i did in a past life and it's coming out in this one too. :-)
Yes i do realize it was your little joke.

Arrr hey, Pete, this shouldn't happen to someone as energetic as you. It just ain't fair!
Hope you are bearing up. Don't let being in hospital get you down. Speedy recovery is what we need from you - and that's an order.
Will you come to Bards poetry night on crutches? Or will you just send a hologram?!
X steve (and JUNEY)!

I can relate to that! Happened to my cat recently (except it was £180!)

The problem with the bees is tragic, in so many ways.Pesticides, I believe are the main problem. If I remember, Monsanto, along with the blessing of most governments of the world, have geneticaly altered the crops, what that boils down to, and its very shocking, is that they have spliced into the dna of seeds,Roundup! So when you eat corn, or other foods, your eating Roundup. From what I understand, the poor bees land on the plant, to collect pollen, the poison, gets on them, and causes confusion and then death.I think/fear that this is a really big problem. Without bees, we can all die in about 4-7 years. good poem, look into it.

Hi Ros, you little dark horse. :-)
I enjoyed your first attempt at poetry and can see where the inspiration came from from for the shape. In this case, i think it works well because of the subject matter.
Long, drawn out friendship and love and the mystery between them and the feelings they might want to hide or simply can't say.
I do love the quirky letters as it flows down towards the ending. ;-)
Well done.

Good Evening Rosalind,
I love this poem , the message is so simple and recognised and so often heard as cry from the heart and sob into your pillow talk, so many many times before. Love is not the easiest of paths to choose.
A quite beautiful poem.
