Having worn a uniform that drew constant (occasionally unwanted!) attention for many years, I am now happy to adorn
myself with less than flamboyant attire, but enjoy the chutzpah
of other folk getting on in years who, if you'll pardon the
phrase in sartorial terms,, let it all hang out. 😊

The beauty of people,
of poetry and prose
is entirely subjective,
being, as it always must be,
in the ears and the eyes
of the beholder.
But, on Friday nights
in the Old Cock and Bull,
it’s even more subjective,
being, as it usually then is,
in the ears and the eyes
of the beer-holder.

This is about my partner and I as a fated pair who despite a vicious fate are nonetheless united by it. I want to have only Celtic myth in it and not the myth of ran, handfasting the main vision the poem was born of is a Celtic ritual. It needs a lot of editing.

Thank you Hélène for your thoughtful words. It is indeed how you say it is. I think a lot of the times children are pressurised and bullied into staying into unhealthy relationships or relationships that hurt, because 'they are your parents'. Cutting ties with them is stigmatized when it shouldn't (always) be and it really does require a lot of courage to break free from that stigma. Thank you again for your comment, I always love to hear your thoughts 💕

Looking reality straight in the face. We think things should be a certain way, but often they are not, including with family. Cutting emotional ties with those who hurt requires courage. Stunning poem, Yasoda.
