All I Know.

As the sun rises

In the east

On this late August day

The land of greens and greys

and browns

Are washed once again

In that heavenly glow

Promising yet another day

Unknown ~

But this I know …

I know that luck has blessed

My soul

With the joy of life

Singing sweetly

As the birds in nest

I know that my heart

Shall rise

Along with that autumn dawn

And burst with passion

For all that lies before

My childlike eyes

This I know …

My blood will warm

My aging bones

As I sit upon

My well earned

Throne

Here I sit with child

In arms

Son of my first

And only born

The sun rises

On his face

And my pride

Fills every space

In the darkest corners

Of my mind

I know now

What once

I did not know ~

Life is like the changing

Of the seasons

What little point there is

In searching for reasons

Change will come

Against our will

There is no choice

But to remain calm

And still

Remain still in the thrusting

Movement of the day

Breathe each moment

As it touches us ~

And pray

And when the sun

Sets in the west

Be content

To know

That we have tried

Our very best

This is all ~

I know.

More pleasing positivity from this source, embellished by some
fine lines along the way.

Exceptional poem of great skill and wisdom. We fight change, I know I do, but your poem shows us a better way, inspired by the natural world 😎

A wonderful poem, Clare. I love the way you align the content to the arc of the rising and setting sun during one day. A real treat.
