Living the 1950's

entry picture

I don’t remember

   the 1950’s.

But I spent

   4 months and,

   15 days,

   living in the 1950’s.

At least I’m told I did.

My parents got me there,

   before moving

   to the 1960’s.

All I know

   of the 1950’s,

   is grainy,

   distant,

   and black and white.

Dad quiffed,

   Mum elegant,

   caught happy,

   in the one photo

   I know of then.

My parents blooming,

   getting on.

Living the 1950’s,

   before I came along.

Thanks for the lovely and kind comments and also the likes.

As you say Stephen, sure there must have been some gloriously colourful days.

I love the economy of this, John. The sideways look.

I was 7 when the fifties ended but don't remember much - starting primary school, a polio vaccination. Yes, it seems grainy and black and white, but there must have been glorious colour on summer days.
