Choosing Light
I have an eclectic palette
But you’re the only taste that matters
I used to roll my eyes when they said
A lover can be your refuge
I thought turbulence feeds my drive
But here we are
And it’s everything to feel safe in your arms
No more flight or fight with shaking hands
And anxiety, an egg in my throat

You give me a peace of mind
Still, as sounds flow through me like ripples,
Her metronome voice glows as she talks, leaving a euphoric feeling.
Melancholy breathing hones focus to my heart beating,
Dissipating my worldly ruminations.
Lucid is how I felt after her rhythmic voice receded,
The ripples still imbued in me lingered.

Just Another Day
There isn’t much to say today,
It’s just an ordinary day.
But I can’t get enough of it;
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Though some spice wouldn’t be so bad,
Without spice, I would still be glad.
And if I had to make a choice,
Still, I would choose the same, with all I had.
