Thank you for comment on my "Play". Yes, i think aloud/allowed definitely would occur to people when the poem would be allowed to be read aloud :-)

I think a lot about poems how they look on paper and when they are being read and all these alliterations that make one's thought drift in certain direction.

Ann! Thank you for your comment on "Child". I was just looking at a small child another day and thought that i'd be annoyed if people stare at me, even lovingly, when i sleep.

I like your "Pink"! It's about pain, but pain small, curable and self-inflicted, so it's quite comfortable to read, although of course u feel sorry for poor burnt person :-)Unfortunately it was about yesterday's weather - and now - back to normal! X

My poem on a similar theme

Gone

It’s gone now.
That gentle all-forgiving love,
the love that just accepted,
never saw the changes
as we melt softly into age.

A hand to hold
when walking down the slippery hill.
Shoulder to cry on.
Voice on the telephone.
Just gone.

I’d rather stay alone
than fight on,
than try to catch
another pair of eyes.
No eyes as gentle-kind
as yours.
No others to see me
and to know
the me that no others
ever see.

If you were here
you’d pass the tissues now.
Make me a coffee,
cheer me up.
Perhaps you’re giving me
some little bit of strength
to carry on.
Thanks for that darling
but I’d rather have you near.

Hi Ann, i honestly haven't seen that, i had written the word down months ago but wasn't able to do anything wqith it. I go back to my notepad sometimes and just sort of look at the words i have noted down and see what happens. Reaverman came from that x

No - I think mine will stay on a page also Carole. Because of the subject matter, the poem jumps about left, right and centre. An audience really wouldn't get it - so what's the point inflicting it on them?

Good evening lovely Lady-don,t worry-bloggingtons has,nt turned into blockingtons-just that I spent most of today being an obligatory link in a very long chain of traffic on the A55-heading to my daughters house in Abergele,North Wales.As a consequence my preference is for a long soak in't tub! especially after running round the garden after the grandkids-been a lovely day nevertheless-catch you soon haiku-ing! lol! thanks-Stefan-x

We had one (Michael Jordan) who stuffed a fat crayon up his nose and had to go to hospital to have it removed. Amazing that I can still remember his name, when I can't remember people I'm introduced to 5 minutes ago now - scary in fact.

Well Jackie Hagan certainly inspired you to write something...
You're a bit short on the 10 and a bit over on the five!
I like the humour - I would agree that Cilla's patter makes you want to puke and that she rides on the coat tails of the beatles. I did like Alfie though...and I do kind of identify her with the swinging 60s.
Jeremy Beadle would have been on my list too - though he was probably a nice chap off air.

Tee hee - why don't you bend the rules a little and write a poem that is 10 lines long, 5 words each line, all about Cilla Black...

I'm just about to post mine now. It is a hideously restrictive form of writing and one that I won't repeat in a long, time, if ever - but it has been fun - of sorts - a bit like pulling your own poetic toe nails out...

I used to think I was my own worst enemy.But I wasn't sure. So I decided to view the matter scientifically,gather the facts, look at the evidence impartially. Turned out it was Cilla Black, she's my worst enemy.I'm only in 5th place.But does she really mean each stanza to be five words long, not five lines.

What's it's all about Ray? Haven't you ever heard her sing Alfie? Forget blind date and those chicken legs - you have to admit that was a stonking song and her nasal voice was somehow right for it. That song even inspired me to write a poem - one of my very best!
