It was great to meet you last week, along with the rest of the clan.
Gaudete is very much a favourite of mine, and you were particularly good.
I loved the comment you left with the photo of me by myself, when you refer to the fog. I think the photo was taken in the fog. Even I'm not sure whether it's me. Perhaps I look better from a distance.
Even with Isobel, there's only one person worth looking at (and it's not me). Why do I always look like a dribbling idiot? Rhetorical question.
I thought Isobel's reading of my poem was terrific. Just wish I could have listened to it myself, but I go a bit blank when I get on a stage.

I felt very honoured to read that poem. I think she must have been a very brave lady and that came through in Steve's poetry. Perhaps we'll get chance to read it again one day.

A lovely and very touching poem written by Steve and performed beautifully by Isobel and Steve about Steves wife. It was such a shame it only got to be performed at the end of the evening. There were so many poets on , but I would have liked to have seen this done not as the last spot.

I also think this is good. The last verse says it all, clearly and honestly. Who could resist?
I found a little insecurity in the pronouns - as in what exactly was/were the referents in the first verse.

A very embracing poem. I like the 'choral' repetition.
But I do think it is too long. I was won over, and then a bit let down. Sometimes lovely lines, whole verses, just have to wait for another poem. They may scream blue murder, but the writer is the boss who must be ruthless against 'stuffing'.

Thre is a joy and a vibrancy to this, and an innocence which is counter-cultural to our modern, cynical, doomy world. There is also a Betjeman-esqe tone here that is a refreshing antidote to all the smarmy clever-dickery that passes for poetry these days. It cheered me up, Cyntha, and that takes some doing!
