Light your way with silver blue reflections,
Square shapes give you a sense of connection
That fills a room with all the strangers' faces.
Their vision is what your retina praises.
I look accross the room and see nothing but golden spheres,

The traffic fumes and roars, deafening my thoughts.
Bark glistens in wrinkled folds with charcoal accents, smudged.
An electric blue flashes cool and a flood of beauty washes over me
as dark, emerald burrs softly quiver.
A wall of trees shields and deadens all sounds.
Silence beckons me.

I walk amongst the trees but who is there to hear?
I whisper and let my voice rustle the leaves until their tremors cease.
Hoarse and weary, not heard, not seen, I wonder if I have ever been.
A Norwegian hillside, a Norwegian wood, I sing your song.
There is much talking but who is there ever to hear?

Before I start, I just wanted to let you all know I've been long-listed to be Penguin's 'Summer Wayfarer' (see here) but in order to make it into the shortlist of ten I need public votes - I'd be keen to emphasise the relationship between poetry and nature and document my travels in verse!

It's that time again and another new Poem is ready to be unleashed on the world. This time inspired by a photograph I took a couple of years ago in Arundel, Sussex. It has a bit of an old world feel this one which I think compliments the subject matter. Hope you enjoy it.
