Tom,
This poem echoes well the feelings of many at this time. Memories strangely come to the fore with emotions once again heightened. Beautifully composed.
Thank you for this

Very important poem.
Whatever difficulties or disasters are around, it is always more difficult for a homeless person.
Thank you for this poem.

Keith your very welcome comment actually arrived before the tweaking - but was nevertheless very welcomed - the concept of it had been niggling away for some time. Blessings. P ?

Thanks, Vautaw. I suspect this won’t be a single battle but the war will be a series of them over the next few years. And it reminds us that things like the Black Death are not just historical concepts.

Have to ask her. Did hear she threw a wild party in the LMS Staff Lounge some months ago. Something about a welcome to LMS shindig for her. Invited her friend Little R for some help
Hey! Someone's just dropped a video of the wild occasion in my inbox.
Let's find out Nige:

(P.S. Sorry Tom I didn't answer your question, (ironic really) the main reason I titled it, "?" is that it's about paying attention and listening for the truth amongst all of the hyperbole, and feel free to call me thick, but it only really occured to me the other day that the written symbol for a question looks so much like an ear, which suggests to me that the person who invented the, "?" really understood how important it was, when someone asks a question, that we actually listen to the answers they give. Well constructed and argued. Some humans have a false value of what is important in life. Transient wealth takes priority above humanity.

Greg at a time of crisis truth is often a victim. Politicians avoid giving straight answers. Probably because they are ill informed. In this vacuum fickle members of the public lacking any credible evidence are persuaded by perpetrators of fake news. Better to sit on a fence than join the easily swayed.
Hugh the plight of the elderly well depicted in these exceptional times.

Hi MC - Antenna - fascinating little things are they not? I remember when my Dad took us to live in the Isle of Man after the war and seeing a swarm of them piece-meal attacking an earthworm - not a pretty sight. Appreciated your comments though. Thanks. P.

We have two ears and one mouth, and should use them in that proportion. Unfortunately it's usually those who have the least to say, that speak the loudest.
Nicely written.

There is always room for reaching beyond what we are told - and
what we are told to do. We do not suffer less. The tragic results are
there to see, but cause and effect are not irrelevant. Doesn't any
thinking person accept that all who exert power over their fellows
(wherever they may be) should be open to questions and comment? If you consider this is to be labelled under the term "conspiracy theory" or "fake news". then it is not the virus that is the sole threat - now or for the future. Check with Voltaire or even Victor Hugo.

I didn't see any mention of China in this poem, MC. But it seems to be cropping up more and more in your comments, almost as if you're exploiting others' distress to push your own conspiracy theory. For what it's worth, Facebook is already deleting this kind of stuff and labelling it 'fake news'. At the start of all this you were taking a positive approach and urging us all to maintain a stiff upper lip, as I remember. The Blitz spirit. What's changed? Have you found a new windmill to tilt at?

The government employs intelligence and diplomatic services at
enormous cost to us, the tax payers. Where were they when this
infection appeared in a major Chinese city in a country that seek business connections and precedence in this brave new much
touted global world? The first to be protected should have been the
most vulnerable and their carers. We now see a damage-limitation
political action in progress.

Thanks, Greg and Graham. Indeed my voice “caught” a few times, I had to do a number of “takes” on the audio. And I think you’re right, Graham, BSM had a voice I’d describe as tremulously strong.
Thanks for the “Like”, Jon.

The cockney "Cheers, me old China" has just achieved a new
resonance in today's world of great expectations and limited common
consultation. Just when Hauwei - a word uncomfortably close to "how" and "why" -
is featuring prominently in this brave new global world! We may comply with what we are told to do but we should never cease
asking questions about the how and why!.
