Keith

apart from wishing you a speedy recovery and a long life I would respectfully like to remind you that you WILL live that long life because our love and respect for you will see to that my friend!

and anyway! for you to die requires our permission!
do you seriously think you will get it? get real and you will stay real! amazing what one sincerity pill can do isn't it?

no rsvp required just keep your faith in God-friendship and poetry account topped up and the door to longevity will remain wide open!

This poem had me shaking with anxiety and fear, my friend. I pray that you live a long, happy and a healthy life with nothing holding you back. I pray that you write more and inspire more people.
You are a gift to this world, Keith, well at least to me and WOL. You are the most humble and pure person that I've come across, you are a gem and I love you. Keep smiling and writing.
Thank you for being a supporter and great poet. I can go on and on but I'll stop here.
Wishing all the good things for you.

This issue has always been concerning and disturbing to me, how can a rapist or a murderer be released?
I fully agree with the poem. Powerfully written, M.C. Newberry.
Thank you.

I loved this poem, Hélèna. Beautifully written and juxtaposed. These lines are my favourite -

"I wait for the sun to set
I wait for the moon to rise
Will the shifting of day into night
bring renewal?"

Thank you for this.🌻

The message in this poem is ambiguous - perhaps intentionally
so since it can refer to a change in a number of ways, leaving
a reader to guess which applies. Not the most comfortable
situation when considering the ultimate possibility.

Moral: Good intentions are fine. Just keep them available
for appropriate use rather than squandering them through what
is becoming known as "virtue-signalling". That can be mis-interpreted as seeking easy popularity without actually having
to do anything.

Yet even Jesus could say (it is reported), as if it was acceptable,
that "the poor are always with us". How to allow this suffering
in God's love of His world was never enlarged upon in Christian teachings, likely excused as conveniently being "beyond our understanding". Meanwhile, we live/travel in hope....that
greatest of all contributions to living a worthwhile human existence.

We need only be aware
To play our part and do our share.
Daniel Ellsberg has gone to dust
Yet he did both - and now we too must
Sound the knell - ring out the bell -
And keep the faith that all WILL be well.
Politics has always been a transient game
Of the meaning of truth and assigning blame;
It has remained so to this day
So, gird the loins and return to the fray!

Easy to picture this scene. Kids have that mixture of curiosity
and wanting to believe that the images of religion seek to
satisfy and persuade. The Jesuits used that too well - and in its
modern form, the sort of imposed teaching still found across
less secular parts of the globe reflects that reality when it
comes to influencing immature unformed minds.

I look at YouTube as a market place of promotions, opinions
suggestions and advice, with its varying degrees of dependability
- or otherwise. I remain free from the likes of Twitter et al and
intend to continue that way. A saying that comes to me from
long ago in my life is this: The intellectual seeks; the wise man
has found.

John,
this is a senseless and cruel war which was unprovoked. It is one of a dictator's traits to launch such wars. History provides us with a litany of dictators and well do we know their antics. Your poem is both a lament and an exhortation for a people who are suffering for no good reason.
Thank you for this,
Keith

Thanks Hugh.
It's a funny old world.
In the the pub only last night, another chap and I chatted about our respective youths and upbringings.

He insisted he was no longer "religious"; and I said that I drew a clear distinction between Religion v Spirituality, adding that if Jesus actually existed, and that if reports of his teachings were accurate, then I'd be a willing follower.

Who'd a thowt it? Two blokes who'd not been to church in years, full of ale, in the betting men's corner, talking about Jesus!😇
