I Wonder

I wonder how birds communicate?

How they seem to know their flight path?

I wonder how they view us humans?

Are we seen as friend, foe, or insignificant?

I wonder why men thought the earth was flat?

That if you travelled far enough you’d fall off

I really wonder what existed before the earth?

Did time exist, were there seasons, colours?

I wonder why there are many wars?

Why they go back thousands of years?

I wonder why so much hatred continues?

As one conflict ends another one starts

I wonder how through sheer persistence,

people cope with war within their own cities?

I wonder, is it the need to survive that drives

them to carry on?

I wonder if they ever forgive their enemy?

I wonder if couples ever stop to think about the future? Who will survive who? Will one be left alone? I wonder how they will cope with that?

I wonder if they will handle it better than me?

I wonder?

Oh I do wonder?

I wonder what it’s all about?

Oh I do so wonder?

Fascinating poem, Rick. I suppose many things, such as time, colours, already existed before we defined them and gave them names.

If they're egged on they get into a flap, whilst indulging in airy-fairy flights of fancy.

How do birds communicate? You can see them online, busy with their twitter contacts. 😊
