I often wonder, what HE was like as a presumably, innocent child, and what made HIM change into such a monster?
A really clever, and such a well written poem, Stephen.
Thank you.

Tennis is my favorite game. I met my future husband on the courts. I spent so many wonderful moments in my life on the courts. And what is most surprising? I have photos of me when I started playing. Then there was none. There are a lot of photos of my husband on the courts. I'm a little bit disappointed. LoL

Thankyou MC and Bethany. The consequence of questioning wokery is that you are branded a racist reactionary. Of which I am neither. Just a person that questions silliness.
And thanks for the Likes, Aisha and Blackrose.

I loved reading every word of this, Ghazala, both the poem and the explanatory prose. Inspiring-- rolling up our sleeves and reaching out towards community, sharing, creating, fostering harmony as much as we can. Profoundly beautiful.

Lord knows what the Wokeys make of "Faggots" by Larry Kramer. If they dare cast their sanctimonious eyes past its
inflammatory title, of course.

Doctors like to be seen to promote "new" ideas - and this sort of
thing is one such example...surely coming under the term "holistic medicine". Music has long been recognised for its
efficacy in positive results on the human condition. I've long
maintained that it is "medicine for the mind".

The use of allegory in this poem is excellent. It is a poem which explains how life unfolds and we can cope with it. I enjoyed this and thank you.

Jan,
This is the first time I have encountered your poetry which interests me greatly. Your profile and beliefs are also ones which I am drawn to. I share your interest in the Great War and several of my poems deal with this subject. In particular one poem I wrote about the Somme which is entitled 'Hell's Quagmire'. It is good to make your acquiantance.

@keithjeffries thanks for the kind comment. I've been sharing some of my recent poems written over the last year just to give other members a sense of who I am. I'm about to retire and my plan is to write a memoir about growing up in rural catholic Ireland. These poems pull from those same memories so I'm glad some members seem to like them.
