Spring

Looking out of the kitchen window, Daffodils peak round fir bushes tight; Glimpses of yellow, orange and white. Waiting patiently for the April rains, The grass looks a little jaded; Bruised by the winter faded. To regain its complexion, deep green. A wake-up for sleepy heads, The early morning light, Strokes the earth, brightly. Lying in bed attentively, Listening for birdsong call. The magpie, swallow, pigeons, Blackbirds and doves, congregate On the budding trees, fate now Decrease they mate. Laying eggs To celebrate new beginnings.
