Don't think 'it lacks quality' at all, but is very cunningly written. Really agree with the last two verses in particular. Listening is just not 'cool' nowadays. Don't use the social networks because it seems to me a total waste of time to post venomous invective or one's daily routine. Can't stand the mania for selfies either. Great language!

I've had this theme in my head for weeks around the number ten (and it also helps that I hate Twitter.)
So apologies if it lacks quality, I just had to get it out, then at least I don't have this nagging internal voice vaguely saying, "Ten, ten, something to do with ten."

Really touching when you really read it, but whoever, "He," is in this poem, "He's," a fool.
I heard a great quote from Benjamin Zephaniah the other day. He said, "People don't care about poetry, when poetry doesn't care about people."
This is a great example of poetry caring about people.

There used to be an old pipe major who played in the town centre in Doncaster. You'd often see him playing outside people's houses at death-o'clock in the morning. I assumed he'd been sent there out of malice.
He was one of the town's characters, and I miss seeing him now
Cheers Kevin

Really funny! Have to confess (being Scottish) that I like a pipe band,
as Dorothy says, they look great, and strut along, testosterone boiling over, but single pipers only in small doses! I would have thought 'the peeps were pulled' was something quite different! Just to be nitpicking, shouldn't it be 'which I wrote, or that I wrote'? Just being bossy as usual.

Liked this - also the repetition of the first 3 lines which (Ithink) shows how difficult it is 'to take the plunge'. Jennifer

Peace is good, empty chatter and clattering sounds do not help people to get well. What you need is a nice big hairy dog snoring blissfully on the end of your bed.It never fails.

Hi JC - it would have been fun to meet up in Devon and put the
world to rights but having just completed my "family birthday" visit
to my old stamping ground, another trip isn't on the cards yet.
I recommend a small hotel if you like to plan ahead - called The Downs, it has a great position overlooking Lyme Bay with views to Portland Bill on a fine day. It has numerous awards for its food &
service, with two great hosts in Kate and Ed. Worth checking out
online if you go to Torquay. I always have the same front room,-
with a balcony, ideal for an in-room breakfast on a sunny day! They even welcome dogs (& well behaved owners ho-ho) so that
gives some idea of their flexible family-orientated approach. I was
impressed enough to recommend them on "Trip Advisor". In this
case, small is great!
Cheers,
MC

Thank you for having the courage to write about this to a sea of strangers. It is not easy. As Jason says most normal human beings care and will empathise. I believe most people in our WOL community fit in into this category.
By writing this you have also accomplished something else important.
You have told others they are not alone. Sharing plays a major role in healing, and understanding. Thakyou again.
PS
On a poetic note that last repeating line 'I couldn't move' hits like hammer. A very effective tool of K
