I've seen this perormed at 'Under the Stairs' have I not Louise? You had a small bald doll with you. Either that or I was experiencing some remarkable outer-body experience?
You know I enjoy your stuff Louise. You were one of the few I had to seek out the dizzy heights of '8' from my well thumbed score cards.
Now, off with you. Dip your quill in the inks of life's joy.

Hi Alex - I've not had chance to say anything until now but I'm enjoying reading and listening to your material.
Don't become too down-hearted if not many comment. In my experience many read the postings but don't want to comment in case they cause little things, like wars and things.
The break up in two breaths themed poem was original and articulated with a clarity that some of us can only dream about. 'Hoorah' for that one too.

Concrete poetry? Very, very good. The shape of the words reminded me of the playing card the three of diamonds, as well as the UFO's from Close Encounters...

Hi Rodney - many thanks for your comment on my effort 'Slam'. At the moment, my time spent writing on the site is fettered with those cumbersome chains of revision and other commitments.
I have taken the liberty of casting an eye, or two for that matter, at your work. I detect a faint wiff of cordite left by those twin smoking gun barrels of irony and surrealism - and I like it!
Feel free to comment on anything good or BAD. I usually do. It can create a feeling of treading in those muddy waters of isolation - but if I wanted to make friends I'd be on 'Adult Friend Finder' or something as equally obnoxious.

I identified with your struggle as you did with mine in my sentiments in the 'Just Believe' poem I wrote in April, beautifully written, love hope and strength, says it all best wishes Jeff X

Hi Alex, I admire your passion in saving what is a foundation of English tradition. You could talk about it till you're blue on the face and probably not get to the bottom of the problem.

I don't drink anymore so I'm hardly going to save them, having said that I go to local pubs for poetry and gigs and the odd meal so I do a bit! I think a lot has to do with price though, the smoking ban having pro's and cons I think!

Oh well, we'll see how the next few years go! cheers!

Hi Stuart,
Phew! this was pretty hard going through in parts but that only serves to enhance the density and strength of the poem. ( for me anyway.)
Those last 2 stanzas are just great. Love 'em.

Memories fall over the abyss.
Such profound words which can be taken to mean several things. I'd like to think that only my bad memories will fall over the abyss.

There's a great rhythm flowing through your poem and hopefully, i'll hear it performed soon.
Thanks Philip,

You are very generous indeed with your praise, but all I really achieved was to bring the two sides together and get them to start talking and listening to each other rather than bombing each other, eventually bringing peace and stability to the region; so my role was really quite minor. Nonetheless, it remains a very poignant poem to this day.

HI Alex, interesting poem. You really thought alot about this subject. I do understand the draw for men to watch porn. But to be obsessed with it is a problem. At a point in life some time in the future, you may find it was a waste of time and possible money. We all have this animal inside, but the key is to control it and not let it dominate you. There really is so much to life that has nothing to do with sex. I think you understand that. Good write!
