To compare the Warsaw Rising against the Nazis with the Hamas
assault on Jewish residents and festival goers could only be
construed as an intentional insult considering the millions who
were murdered in WW2 just because they happened to be Jewish. Poets can be the purveyors of truth yet can also be the conduit of convenience and. ultimately, conviction of purpose.

Must agree John about eco-disaster, isn't many people's biggest priority. Probably should be everyone's, but our own day to day lives get in the way.

I suspect I may have made this poem a bit too obscure. I was trying to talk about the extinction of the conservative government through climate crisis language!

Some is Suella's recent words about the existential crisis for her and the government. Events of yesterday over Rwanda being the perfect example of the mess they’ve created for themselves.

I hope that when I die, I find some understanding. Until then I believe for it brings more hope than just a void. There must be purpose within this messy existence whether I understand it or not. Excellent poem purplmoon.

Thank you Moonlight.
I will weave on. My mother went to work in a textile mill on leaving school-she often spoke about weaving - my way of remembering the difference between warp and weft is that weft rhymes with left - to right!

Thank you for this article. Alareer Refaat was a well known Gaza poet along with Mosab Abu Toha who has escaped Gaza with his family. Both were courageous men, poets of the highest calibre and their work will grow in prominence. The Israelis are now intent on destroying Palestinian culture. The University of Gaza has been destroyed, the Eduard Library also destroyed along with schools, the central public library, printing presses and mosques and churches. Anything to destroy Palestinian identity has been targetted. Alareer's comparison between Gaza and the Warsaw Ghetto is indeed accurate. The BBC should be ashamed of their stance on this issue. They are the lapdogs of the establishment. These two poets are examples for all poets to follow. We care called to speak the truth, expose lies and challenge propaganda. Many poets throughout history have been killed for their work. I salute Mosab Abu Toha and Alareer Refaat. May God rest his soul.

You got it right
I've a canvas of love
No matter what colour i mix
It gets rainbowed with colours of love
No hate, no jealousy to see
No animosity, nothing pessimistic
Even if these get stirred in life
Canvass of love does it's magic
Painting everything vibrantly
In the colours of love

MC - I don’t know what “foreign” equivalent of Greggs is but I have no doubts there are other retailers in the UK and abroad that do something similar.

In our own ways, we can all be "Good King Wenceslas" and these
lines are a modern reminder of that window of opportunity. But
"Greggs" offer a UK brand identity. What, I wonder, is their overseas equivalent for readers beyond home shores?

I liked this poem, Tim, as I often feel like I love in a mirror house. I liked the last few lines as I could resonate with it in a way,
"It’s a life of constant wonder and question
Oh, but what a maddening way to be
Questions without answers in all that I see."
Thank you for this.

What a beautiful poem, HÊlène. I loved it! I like how you turn a normal thing as opening a window for air or walking in the morn with light seem so magical and overwhelming. I liked how the poem ended as well, with an important message that love can fix everything.

An inventive alternative view of the origins of Christmas that
is both relevant and humorous against the setting of this modern age. It speaks volumes for the generous spirit of the Christian
attitude to love and life that we are able to appreciate the
original and still feel able to enjoy (as here) a witty pastiche
upon it that connects in the best way. Nice one.
