Shayla's World

In a world beyond my nighttime door.
From the Fairy Palace, Shayla I saw.
In the sky, the low moon shone bright.
But Shayla, out shone it on that night.

The stars twinkled in a cloudless sky.
The night I saw Shayla pass me by.
Scented perfumed gardens filled the air.
Peace and tranquility was everywhere.

I kept my distance, I kept out of view.
But I wanted to belong in this world too.
But this was my dream, all in my mind.
Every time I slept, this land I would find

I made a wish, child like, you could say.
In this magical world, I wanted to stay.
My own world holds no interest for me.
In Shayla's enchanted world, I long to be.

Interesting and appealing in its mystical "dream" theme - reminding me of those lines about Xanadu.
