Betwixt

Inspired by this time space we currently find ourselves in....

The land of betwixt and between

What's been

Versus

What is unseen

Next year hints

A clarity

Of vision

Perfect for

Leap year

Decisions!

Mistletoe Mistakes

They wanted to kiss

Yet missed

With Mistletoe

How could they resist?

What he didn't know

Was he'd stood

On her toe

A short lived bliss

All of their hoping

Just turned into hopping!

Tinsel Time

T'is tinsel time when midst the grime

Of muddied minds shines ...

What can it be?

Electro-lite silver, gilding

This tarnished life of strife?

Celebrating the survival of the fittest,

The feel good factor?

Forgetting for the festive moment

The fate that awaits?

Or, could it be

The eternal light of an eternal star?

Startling joyously

Faces, who wa...

Hyde Park Winter Rink

We circle as sharks
on the Hyde Park winter rink
our eyes like lasers
I audibly bleep when they meet

We both go forwards
not getting anywhere
we pass with differing intervals
I only breathe when we pass

Some laps are flawless
some laps are clumsy
some laps I nearly take some sucker down
some laps I kiss the ice

I feel your eyes lift me to my feet
I feel them brush the slush from...

Snow can cover such a multitude of sins.

Cool cat sat on the white mat,

Softly he began to hum a song.

He though of his lost love long gone

Over the seas to nonsense land.

There no snow but always winter,

At Christmas Time

Christmas is a time which we love and adore.

When we are happy, excited and so much more.

It is time when certain magic can all be believed,

When special gifts are both sent and received.

It is a time for families to all get together,

And be merry and joyful - whatever the weather.

It is time to put all quarrels aside,

To have fun and laughter with no need to hide.

A turkey in sheep's clothing

"Fattening up time" the wall calendar read

which meant only one  thing to old farmer Ted.

Christmas was coming and there's money to be made

you see the bigger the bird the more he'd be paid.

He'd saved up all year and bought high quality feed

to ensure that his flock was the best he could breed.

So this year Ted's turkeys would be the tastiest in town

and the best biggest...

Grandad's Christmas Reverie

He thought

All I want is here

the tree that reaches the ceiling:

with the decorations the boy had helped hang

and the lights he could reach

to pull off

He thought

I hope they like my gifts

the presents beneath the low branches:

with the labels that the girls had turned over

and peeped at to see

which was theirs

He thought

I am alone with Christmas

the many...
