November Heart (Updated)

November Heart

My heart feels like November,

Not yet dead but getting colder.

For as long as I can remember

I’ve just been getting older.

Blood congeals in icy veins,

Unable to reach a conscious thought.

In the brain confusion reigns,

Nothing’s found if nothing’s sought.

Passion left a while ago,

Heart and head decided,

Where blood and thought no longer flow,

Love’s empty space resided.

Shorter days give way to night,

Allow darker dreams the right of way.

Lost my energy, lost my light,

Memories of you begin to fray.

Life’s unraveled its ball of string,

And thrown away the spool.

Don’t believe I’ll see next Spring,

April won’t miss this fool.

Feel no sorrow for my plight,

I got what I deserved.

Lost my feelings, lost my fight,

I got what I deserved.

Thanks all for the likes on the previous version, which didn't seem finished, so I've added a couple of stanzas to make it more balanced.
