A Day in 100 Thoughts

10th October 2018

The radio speaks, it's daylight, I'm wakened

A momentary pause: consciousness beckoned

Sunlight on the trees says late Autumn Summer

More news on Brexit and the policy's dumber

The bins must be put out for the lorry

I had better get up, it's late and I'm sorry

There's news of a flood and a broke coffee chain

I'll email a poem to friends up the lane

My mind is my prison, but I hold the key

My mind is my prison

when it should be my home

where I sit in front

of an open fire and

keep myself snug and warm.

Instead my prison guards

are my thoughts and

situations my bars,

together they keep me

in solitary confinement,

but I am always keeping

a close watch on my sentries

as they make their regular patrol

and I begin to see a pattern

to their s...

Should I

Should i speak up when its wrong?
Should i challenge what i see?
Should i mind my own business?
Should i not judge what i see?

Should i stand up for what's right?
Should i concentrate on me?
Should i stop being so selfish?
Should i know what's good for me?

Should i know my place and shut my mouth?
Should i not be a sheep?
Should i make sure they know my name?
Should i not have that ...

Thought of a restless mind.

As I grow, I see many places to live by
I see the true nature of life,
On how doll and peaceful it can be.
But what is life without sorrow?
What is life without dreams of the melancholic soul?

Just a thought of a restless mind.

2am (Too Many Thoughts)

Its 2am
I'm lying on the bathroom floor again
Heavy breathing, I got pills in my hand
Shaking and waiting for the sandman
To take me to sleep so you can understand

This is not a claim to fame
Only an attempt for you to remember my name
When you see me in the headlines saying "He wasn't okay"
Oh you miss me now? Ain't that a shame.

I'm not coming back, there is no replay
You can't tak...

A Shell

I stare at the empty shell in the mirror.

Is this what I am now?

My flesh tainted,

clothes tight and suffocating,

nothing looks right anymore.

My hair falls in the wrong ways,

my makeup is now a mask.

I am numb.

I am blistered and broken.

Nothing is real anymore.

I look away,

and once again

I am encased in the hopelessness

of this damned shell.

Hold onto those thoughts

He gathered his thoughts in a plastic bag
to carry around with him,
to bring out when needed,
when he wanted to reuse them.

Tired and forgotten memories
that could be re-ignited,
and at any chosen time
to be used to tear down their target.

Their life in the airtight container
starved them of any air
thus, actually rendering them
ineffectual and for all intents
and purposes dead.

Thoughts

Insomniac?

I rely on sleep

It’s the only thing

To keep thoughts at bay

Hours when my mind

Releases its grip

That strangles my sanity

Now, in its own

Sick and twisted way

Keeps sleep at bay

My mind is evolving

Tightening its grip

And slaughtering my sanity

Dream Promises

It was a dream
As the touch was real
His fingers curled in my hand
His words were new tunes
That continuously danced in my head
He may not be present
I'm still thinking of him
Or am I dreaming
As his promises
and
What I will do
Printed a smile on my face
And contracted on my brain
Looking forward to those things
It must be a dream
As he is changing
His words were to be promised
No...

The Bridges I Never Burn

All the goodbyes Ive never said

They haunt me, like some unfinished business.

Im always wondering who is away from me, that is not supposed to be.

Who did I cast away after prides were hurt?

Where are those who hesitantly walked away, while they looked back and noticed I wasnt following?

Oh, who are you kidding?

You give way too many chances.

Face it.

With some, you...

Don't Cry Over Me

{Don't Cry Over Me}

Don't cry over me

Don't feel sad for me

Don't you think that

I didn't want

to stay but I

couldn't because I

had to go because

God needed me more

Don't you think that

I didn't Iove you

because I did

and I always will

even from above now

Don't cry over me

Don't you forget that

now I'm your angel

watching over you

Scattered Minds

A scattered mind,

Isn't to hard to find,

Especially if it's mine,

Is insanity such a crime?

We don't have much time,

Don't be like your dad,

I hear,

Do you think it's a fad?

I wonder,

Does blood really stain?

Or do you think this judgement is simply too vein?

Let me reign,

I'll take away the pain,

I'll stick listening to my brain,

And leave your bleeding h...

Diary Of The Southern Queen Entry #50 (Havana)

My heart is hurting because I left something extra special behind in beautiful Havana

He was a tall tan skinned man that was a tall glass of water that kept thrusting for him day and night and I think I am about ready to lose my mind because of that man in Havana

And as I need and want Havana to appe...

Whispers

Just when you think you’ve fallen too deep,

Lost in the pits of your mind,

There’s someone reaching out to you,

Saying leave your past behind.

Starting anew is harder than it seems,

Energies, thoughts and doubts linger in between.

My thoughts are drowning me in this sea of illusion,

Leaving me in a state of confusion.

For my mind is a challenge,

And self doubt is the...
