Are we allowed to be afraid?
Is it compulsory to fight?
Many would choose to be elsewhere
When faced with a foe and its might.
Are we a traitor if we leave,
Or a patriot if we stay?
It is no shame to show contempt
For warfare, and to keep away.
And ‘pacifist’, that grubby word
That hardly dares to speak its name?

Response to Section 63 from Tao Te Ching
Be more by doing less.
Accomplish more by taking a rest.
Taste more by eating slow.
What seems unlikely
may bring the greatest reward,
as when we treat our adversary
with kindness.
Big weeds grow from a tiny seed.
Infection comes from a small scratch.
Small acts deter disaster.
Humble beginnings can grow into greatness.
The wise one perceives potential

One people
I will not fight, I will not stand
For border, nor for any land
I need not know, am not concerned
Your place of birth or language learned
Too many wars are fought, too many die
Over province, pride, triumphal lie
I will not guard, I will not bar
The stranger landed from afar
They need a home, and wish to settle
Want to work, to show their metal
We can only profit...
