The faint strangled cry

of a separated child,

parents detached

when the need is most.

An emotional bond

smashed to smithereens,

lack of food, lack of space

lack of sleep, lack of love.

We are bringing up

traumatised infants.

What example are

we setting for our future?

Does the human

no longer exist in humanity?

Have we become our

own worst nightmar...
