HI Peter
Thank you I am much improved, just a little stiff, and that can't be a bad thing.
With regards to CAT Programming
My Cat ( Jake Bibble) is a complete enigma and continues to defy logic, he’s timorous of mice and helps when we feed the doves. His feline 6th sense and nine lives programme is completely overrun by Trojan Horses insofar as to slow him to a constant state of screen saver mode.
Many Thanks
Gus

Very powerful, and beautifully performed. Particularly like the repeating motif that slowly expands. I do feel, however, that the written version would benefit from adding punctuation in line with the spoken.
Well done,

Hi again - reading your work it occurs to me that you might like the work of some 60s folk/protest singers - and in particular, Phil Ochs.
Ochs was one of the people that inspired other songwriters (most notably Dylan), as well as his listeners. He had a very journalistic style, and wrote with wit and intelligence - I think you'd appreciate his work.

Only one bug that I can see - who owns who? Daisy has asked that you be reminded: Cats don't have owners, they have staff.
Neither of us know whether it's a good industrial programme - neither of us care - it made us laugh. Well, me anyway!

I was cooking some Quorn chunks today and noticed that the frying instructions were quite poetic.Statistically this poem is 250% more popular than any other poem of the month.

Chris and Win
My first experience of Prestwich was approximately fifteen years ago, which is, as no doubt you are both aware a predominately Jewish area of northern Manchester. I have since learnt that the main objective of all Jewish women who are love with you is to ensure they feed you… constantly.
Finally whatever the circumstances her Mother will never approve of … anything.
Thank you for reading it’s very much appreciated

i like this poem not for the conjecture but for its simplicity
i couldn't care for the deeper potential or otherwise significances - it is what is not said in this poem that makes me smile
as for the rest - well that's all egg bacon beans and a fried slice...

Yes, first woman, but I say 'congratulations!' full stop. It would only be a millstone etc in the distant past but surely not for the last two or three and certainly not for Carol Ann. She has already said that she will write what she wants, when she wants, and the donation of her dosh to encourage poetry leaves her with no 'debt' to the establishment.

I know it's over - still I cling
I don't know where else I can go
Absolute poetry Pete, loved this song as soon as it came out, with you on this mate. I saw the Smiths a few times and always marvelled at their awesome talent for writing the most emotional lyrics that meant something to us average people in the street, not to mention their humour within that depressing image everyone latched on to on the putside.
'And if a double decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die'
Poetry - 'There is a light that never goes out' Jeff

I think this is a clever poem. Very clever. Although it is short, and seems simplistic, the imagery of the juxtaposition of saint and sinner is quite poweful.
Purple has long been used as a reference to sexuality in women {aka the highwayman "riding riding over the purple moors"} Her open coat and open legs are an invitation in..... as are the purple veiled statues into the Church leading to the alter. Lent being a time of abstenance, is over when the fast is broken.
Both the girl and the Church are offering the promise of filfillment, bliss and a new "spring" renewal.
Well thats how I would interpret it!!
Cate

Your 'lifelines' ... a marvellous evocation of love lost, the cruel sea and the beautiful land of Cornwall.
Loved these lines, among many, Anthony ...
'her days, her nights are one, the same -
a gift of darkness borne by grief
to wounds already salted well.'
And the mention of Lamorna...oh,that walk from Mousehole to Lamorna along the cliffs never fails to blow me away with its beauty! I must get down to Cornwall again soon.

As a survivor of a "series of bitter farewells" myself I can relate to this. And there is no better theme for a poem than 'freedom', and that comes through in this. Nice one.

this is all correct!
I did not wish it understood as the moment itself was just that.
ambiguity is the best way for such an awkward moment of insecure certainty
the clues are there....................
thanks for all the interest on this one!
the subject situation interests me enough, or rather was potent enough to enable many connotations, i shall write a few versions of this moment, watch out for these.

I really like this poem... very touching...
These lines do it for me...
'I’m not a child anymore
But the memory lingers
The burned image of potential cinders
Smoulders on
Like a viper
Never gone
Never leaving
Poor child grieving
I still have the occasional nightmare
hoping to be friends
With the Russian bear
and
For a world
Without the bomb.'

I love these words... so true... so profound...
'One hand counted
The people always there
Its five or below
Not so many in life
To share any thought
obscure
Obscene
Serene
Pure
Make no matter
always there
For you
call upon them
your midnight hours
a cower of a moment
When strength is running out
one chipped cup of coffee
for everyone’s imperfection
matters not the vessel
but what is within
a silent wall upon
they ask for nothing'
