Thank you Jason. "You are no-one's second best." This made me cry, but in a good way for the first time in a long time. You build such comfort and encouragment into your poetry and truly I treasure that. And as Mae says, to count you as a friend is truly to be lucky.

"accept that as we walk many paths will cross"

"You are no-ones second best"

I love those lines - your friend should take comfort and be encouraged by them.

I hope that he will be able to

" Share the words at the core of your soul, without fear"

Well written and well spoken Jason.

"That which can only be gifted, never taken,

That which you must give first in order to receive,

That which requires the unshaking will of the shaken,

To embrace grace and finally believe."

Sometimes forgiving ourselves is harder than being forgiven by others...

And that's why we need to redeem ourselves, otherwise apologizing would be just fine!

"Your grip on the burdens of your own bitter load,

And there, honest and naked, seek redemptive peace."

Wonderful Jason! Loved it! ?

Hello Fernwood! It's an old poem but you might like it. It used to appear in anthologies, thanks for reminding me of it.

"Where? With whom? With what? "

be very careful - i can remember seeing a play about a man who 'returned' as his widow's caged pet budgie.
mmmm needs thinking about.

No need to apologise, Graham!
The rule of 'one post a day' is necessary on a shared site and you will find, most common on community writing sites. Most contributors accept and understand the rule.
And Andy N, you make a good point about comments too.
It seems to me, Don, you need your own blog site so (as I've mentioned before to others) you could share more and publish some chapbooks with a link to purchase.

Beautifully written my friend, but painful to read. I think we can all resonate with these words at some point in our life. Heart break is the worst of all pains because it's also the saddest.
Ever your friend across the world.

Your strong beautiful poem combined with the impression you've made on me, the way you write, comment and generally come across; combined with your pen name and profile photo and of course this poem with that genuine pain and heartache it exudes as well as the intricate way you wive your love story into a piece of art remind me of Billie Holliday! I'm sorry for your lost love and God knows we all made mistakes and have our hearts ripped off, sometimes by our mere selves... I'm sorry for all that...But!
Heart of Lead, I love your voice!
Thank you ?
Mae

I remember well what Graham said, Don it simply wasn't fair on the other writers really as I remember one poet joining for example and I remember him posting something alongside 50 odd poems in a day and a half. If you feel the need to blog that many, going onto wordpress or blogger is a alternative certainly among other things.

I also find as well, if you are after comments off people on here blogging so many perhaps isn't the best move also.

or even one liners?

can you have a one line poem ?

alternatively - smaller print.

One of the most iconic of films, carefully considered here Ray. There's a dampness to these words that pick out Venice perfectly. Blacks and greys and that one vital, tiny splash of red! I think Peter might be right.

Sorry Don,

The fact is that before this was introduced, some poets were flooding the site with their work and it took ages for other poets to trawl through their work to get to others.

What other prolific poets do is to produce their own blog page elsewhere on Wordpress or something similar and provide a link for others to navigate to.

Sorry for the Blogslide!
