Not In My Name
The evil they once did lives after them;
Once more, the monster they created, strikes.
But ever-strident hypocrites demand
that I condemn out loud those evil deeds.
They browbeat me, a great granddad who sees
fresh hell before me, each and every day,
in far-flung corners of this grieving world,
with tears that well up in my ageing eyes,
at images of newly orphaned babes,
