Healing
Broken feeling all alone
The dark surrounds you and all is still
Time stops ticking
Your heart no longer wants to beat, it no longer wants to live
You hear a voice whisper
You hear a voice call your name
You fall on your knees close your eyes and pray
You feel his strength
You hear his voice say , "No more!"
God says , "Rise and grow!"
Have COURAGE to let go......

Lucky Girl
i am a lucky girl.
just recently i read that
on average
people take around 24,000 breaths
everyday
in between words
and laughs
and running late to their jobs.
today i watched an old
PJ Harvey concert on tv
she was singing and
screaming and
breathing
all over the place-
it was great
i bet i took a thousand breaths
just sitting there watchi...

They Come to Me When Things Are Still
They come to me when things are still
And leave me without choice to hear
The things I've heard and know too well
Of tired topics,
To be clear
I, myself and just the ears
Without chance to think, or speak
It seems all I do is overhear
Their endless banter of
Self critique
Seldom, do I have a moment
For myself
Today, for instance
Was particularly loud
Who...

The Walls We Built
I could not reach you
But how I sought to
How desperately I longed
To belong to you
But the walls between us
The ones you built
Stood far too strong
And far too tall
For me to reach
Oh, but how I tried
How relentlessly I cast my bleeding hands
Against the jagged rocks and stones
That kept me from you
Lost,
Alone
But how I tried
And I wait...

Narcissus V Phoenix
Narcissus creatures surround me.
Vultures, pecking at my serenity.
Testing my resolve.
Threatening to consume me.
Daring me to break free,
from a doomed mentality.
Do I close my eyes to injustice
permeating our atmosphere,
like The Great Smog?
No.
I spread my Phoenix wings.
Rise above the toxic darkness.
Bring forth healing light.
Spread peace, kindness, love.
Never give up ...

Words Are Falling Like Rain
Words are falling, like rain, like rain.
Words living and dying and born again
Falling like rain.
And they are falling on windows, drumming on rooftops
Words that are gentle, words that are ruthless
Falling like rain.
Words in trickles and rivulets, in streams and torrents
Words splashing onto legs, words drenching heads
Falling like rain.
Out of thin air, pure, clear, sent distant,...

Free
The sounds of the ocean waves crashing as if they were talking to me saying , " Breathe, be free."
The sound of the wind whispering in my ear, break your chains, run, run, run, don't you dare look back
My eyes closed, my heart beating fast, wondering when will the world stop spinning round and round
When will my light be free to shine
When will my soul be freed from yours
When will...

Whine or Shine
Is there a poem or song to describe the melancholy that washes over me, unexpectedly?
One to suppress or express, dark desires
to put myself first, at all costs.
Let my needy family
fend for themselves,
betray those that have betrayed me,
including my own body.
Throw my arms up in despair,
one more time,
or...

Apothecary
Apothecary
Beneath the ancient gallows tree
There sits an old apothecary
Where deep within its ancient rooms
Resides an old man selling ‘shrooms
That he has harvested from soil
Of graveyards where the serpents coil
And if the ache screams in your joints
Just follow where the way-marker points.
The place smells of dust and moist mildew
And the foul dark liqui...

"fine"
How are you?
A question worth a thousand answers
A thousand possibilities summed into one
Fine
Somewhere in between the good and the bad
Between the lines
Of the lies
Fine -
Just fine.

As I watch the waters flow
As I watch the waters flow
It calms my soul
As I watch the light ripples
My heart mirrors its beat
Smooth, serene
Somewhat still
As they move to the wind of God
Going only where the Father blows.
Lord, let your living waters flow.

Truth
The hard part about all this is that you already found new love
You decided she was better than me that she is enough
The words you said, "to infinity and beyond" we're all a lie and you left me when all I ever wanted was compassion, understanding, and love
But the day you walked out, I learned the truth about life.
I learned that the only person that could make me strong was God
He...

Deceit tells us: what they have is better than ours
Deceit tells us: what they have is better than ours
So now we wrestle with discontent
Forever seeking,
Wanting,
Desiring something that was never our own
Blessings become blurred
When seen through the lens of another
Our sight diminishes
With each gaze and long lusting look
That will never be
Enough.
Scrolling through standards not set in stone
Daydrea...

Soul Songs
Your poetic words
bring comfort
my mind
cannot comprehend.
Floating in the
healing waters
of your soul,
is my favorite pastime.
Two stars colliding,
creating a kaleidoscope
of time.
In the space
of your song,
life is sublime.

Find a person
that doesn’t make you
burn yourself for them
but soothes you
like cold water
on a fresh burn
Bring me peace
there is enough war

Broken Heart
What do you do when the person that once brought you love brings you nothing but pain.
What do you do when the person you gave your heart too took it and threw it away.
What do you do when your heart beats so fast it feels like it is coming out of your chest.
And the love you once had starts to change into tears and hate.
And that person that once brought you comfort and made you feel...

Leisurely Life Lessons
I could get used to this leisurely life.
Wake up without an alarm.
Stretch, yawn, linger on.
Get my long list of to do things done.
Read, write, learn without interruptions.
Walking a snail’s pace on the treadmill while catching up on world news...
Unprecedented attempts to slow the spread of a new kind of flu leaves me wondering what more we can do?
Quiet calm surrounds m...

Rain.
Rain.
I don't like your colour,
Can't hear your noise
Anymore.
You cover streets in winter,
Keep my heart there,
In grey lands.
Let rivers overflow
And my heart sinking
Into colourless melancholy.
I want to be
At a sunny place.
I want to feel the golden light
And warmth on my skin.

Rescue
A songbird’s sweet melody
ushers angels to
light up your lonely lair,
shoo fears away,
make peace with your pain,
set your spirit free...
to love,
unconditionally.

Savaged Soul
If I knew your poetry would suddenly
disappear,
I would have memorized
every poem,
to comfort me
when I feel alone.
Your words help heal
my savaged soul.
I'm sad you had to go.

You once asked me why I loved you
You once asked me why I loved you.
I didn’t know what to say.
Because you are kind,
like a viper, killing quickly.
Or because you’re wicked smart,
like a jungle cat stalking its prey.
Because you see me, deeply,
that much is true.
I didn’t know what to say,
so I didn’t say anything at all.
In the silence that has settled

...After These Hours...
To the marrow of a hinge in the door looming within the spaces in my spine.
I partake unwillingly into the silence of the thereafter; I hear them walking after these hours...
I do so.
Linger in the niche halfway of dawn predesessing names, and umbilical alliances from the severed.
The key is in the shadow and the sun.
The howl before humanity: I am somehow unasleep, sleeping beneat...

Meditation on My Happy Place
The world struts and saunters with its many wide wonders
but nothing compares to my happy place
My thoughts still and slow and I let things go
when I rest inside my happy place
My fancies run wild and I feel like a child
when I play within my happy place
I build mind castles and deflate mighty hassles
when I scheme inside my happy place
I feel sad and alone, so...

CHAKRA HEALING
I hold my crystal
my left hand it lights up
I pass it to you
your whole body lights up
every muscle it touches it relaxes
and heals you
I know you feel it
because my heart it feels you
your body lit up with
a silver outline
the light it turns red at the base
of your spine
eliminates pain and energy

I Once Made Sadness My Home
I once made her my home.
I would go there every day.
I memorized the cracks on the walls,
The shadows dancing around flickering lights,
The water leaking through the floor.
I took a walk through haunted hallways where I hung portraits of childhood wounds,
memories of past heartbreaks,
mementos of loss and regret.
But like a child who outgrows her clothes
I no lon...

Take a walk on the wild side
Step from the road of the known into the wild of the unknown.
My guide, the divine pulling me 3 finger widths beneath my last known uplink.
Wonders of the world exist all at once, spanning the confines of time.
I visit myself as a child and young adult.
Give hope to the past, while gaining wisdom from the future.
Crude oil refined into the supreme.
Let's suffer together.

Lion within
The Many Faces of Spirit Wind
I told the lion in me to quiet down cause it had a loud roar
The environment I was in encouraged me to let it out
But I was not ready to explore
A side of me that had red eyes and was engulfed in flames
Cause I didn’t learn how to tame
And maintain that energy
So I kept quiet as the I let the hyenas pass me around
Letting the fire burn

Daughter
Forgive me, for not
being the mother
you needed me to be.
For being too busy,
too naive to see
what was happening
in front of me.
For being silent
when your father
screamed and demeaned.
For when I thought it
was sweet that your
boyfriend carried you
to your room when you
"fell asleep".
For not enough hugs
and too many lectures.
For not seeing the signs
of addict...

Dear Poet
I wish you could
see yourself
as I see you.
You see
an outcast,
rebel without a cause.
I see
a tormented soul
with so much potential.
Silver-tongued sage,
healing hearts
with the flick of a pen
on a tattered page.

Becoming
If you become
what you think about
most of the time...
I am becoming
poetry, a lyrical
fantasy floating
in rhyme.
I am becoming
love and light,
Doing my best
to do what's right.
I am becoming
forgiveness
and peace.
Healing souls
like Wayne
and Louise.
I am becoming
who God intended
me to be.
Leaving a loving
legacy.
I am becoming
free.

...Electricity...
This pain in the darkness…
It came to sudden eve to blaspheme the torment of branch through the quintessential.
It took through the walls the solidity of ghost stories mending soul with ethereal strings and fire.
The amplitude of dust from centuries ferments in my body as life.
And, the blood seeps from the willow trees within pen as ink.
Playing into fruition heart chords drizzled...

Let The Night Fall
Let The Night Fall
Let the night fall and cover us
with heavy molasses sleep
that makes our bodies
sink into soft linen sheets.
Clouds of pillows
swirling round
our dream filled heads.
Let the night fall and still
the howling creatures
clawing at the doors
of our subconscious..
Folds of duvet
cushioning
the ravages of life.

Driving Through Cromwell Hill Road
A house is built from bricks and glued
Together to create shelter renewed
A skeleton protecting organs hidden inside,
Waiting for a family to live and reside
Seasons pass and storms blow by
Damage accrues despite how hard it tries
To keep flawless and perfect, societies dream
From beauty to beast, becomes unseen
"I am ugly, marred, broken- why bother trying?"
My purpose is futile, my fut...

Right Here
Right here,
Staring at the dusk,
Where we both withered,
Ashed into the wind,
A gentle breeze of the night.
Right here,
I no longer wait,
Walking along with gloom,
Brushing away each yesterday,
Stitched and crossed the torn.
Right here,
I watch every fall,
Of the tree's threads,
Reaching the depths of my wounds,
The last tear drop awaits.

Hey hello how do you work this damn thing
I never had a problem till you walked in
What a shame i was a better man

Im the same one they left hanging when it was cold out chilling on the backstreet

Master and Commander
Spreading kindness is not as easy as it should be,
Light years ahead this world of worlds,
And what’s not preserved will slip through mid-earth,
Medicated America suffers,
Morals are seldom thought of,
Our jaded youth trudges on,
We collapse on the front lines,
No one can save us,
Because we see our neighbors in turmoil and turn away,
