157) Breakfast almost over and so is my roam

This afternoon I catch the plane home

Last night Thom gave me a newspaper clipping

I think the reporters mind was slipping

I couldn’t believe, instead of Trev he’d called me Treve

Then with total aplomb, the picture of Bob was actually Thom

Down the road to roll, no toll,

Just stop for the Border Patrol

They’re wantin’ staff should I try

Would they consider an over the hill Limey Guy?

On the way keep the hunger pangs at bay

Something quick will do the ...

We chatted about our children and wives and about our poetry lives

The end of another one

Not at all drear, just the room to clear

Then Thom says “will you, give Nancy an interview”

But that was temporarily dropped

Till we got the air condition stopped

Try as we might we couldn’t get it right

With the buttons we played, we almost prayed

Two towns lit up as one

Although it was a shame it was a cloudy night sky

Hopefully I thought driving away
