It starts in North Central New Mexico, flows through Texas into the Rio Grande.  Th eraised areas in !20 Wildlife Preserve are designed to allow floodwater from it to flow into the wetlands, sadly this doeasn't happen due to the area being drought prone, shown by the size of the river
