Hi Jason, thanks for the comment on We Were Beautiful. I absolutely agree; we may age but the beauty doesn't evaporate it just mutates. For me it was the beauty of the moment in time I was really looking back on - and that beauty can be frustratingly fleeting ?, Cheers Tom.

Ruth, re: 'Schizophrenia', the 'first/real' me has always loved ice cream and still does. It was the 'secondary me' who had the aversion. I was very fortunate that I did not get totally 'freaked' about the 'second personality'. Perhaps it was a kind of innate arrogance to refuse 'her' credibility/access. I had blindly heard of such situations, but had no experience with such 'manifestations' whatsoever. None.It was a very scary time.

I so 'feel' for anyone afflicted in this way. It must be awful. Both for the victim, and the people associated, whoever they might be. But the whole experience made me a far more sympathetic person, and open to people's experiences that often seem to be 'bizarre'. Who can presume 'to know'!

How kind of you to 'scope' some poems from a while back. And then to comment. Thanks!

I live in Sale, Greater Manchester. After being so ill for months, when I finally took a tram ride into the city this late spring, I couldn't believe the alterations in the skyline - the construction of high rises! I felt as though I were in a Star Wars movie set! I really was shocked. Almost intimidated. Are you also aware like this? Or is it just me?

'To be a writer' is fab. I do appreciate 'short' as well as 'long'. Although you well might wonder.

Re 'Broken Hearts' the fear of rejection is a powerful 'motivation' not to do things. Even posting poems. Won't do it because others might not like it. Rejection at work...

Adam, thank you for commenting on my poems. I particularly enjoyed Olympic Mountains as it had that impressionist flavour, a genre of poetry I am very drawn to. Keep writing Adam as your work has a special quality, which over time, will achieve your own personal brand of poetry. I look forward to observing your progress.

Thanks Alexandra (Albatross) Time moves on a pace from modern experiences - what once was a not so unusual everyday experience in the wider scheme of things (deaths at sea) - now forms a rather different kind of scenario indeed, especially as there is no merchant service as once was so familiar to us. Like the Smithsonian Institute in the USA discovered - our past history and artefacts of times past - help us look back and see anew what it was that everyday folk did for a living - in that looking back the events seem more golden in the re-telling. I was there and still see the faces from earlier days loom up at me from time to time - the good bits and the less good. If any of that makes any sense at all. Bestest. P.
