Hi Harry,
Thank you for your comment. It's nice to be back. I hope to stick around this time.
I really appreciate your encouragement. I know formal isn't to everyone's taste but I am pleased that you approve.
Take care.
Helen :)

Hi Lynn,
Thank you for your comments. The Evil Tree is the latest one that I've done. I'm starting to get more of an idea of what I want to write, but still figuring out this whole poetry thing.
I'll look out for your new poem.
Matt

Hi Matt, thank you for your comments on my profile, regarding my poems, and I am glad you like 'Uncertainty'. I've decided to post another which could be a sequel, although hopefully, it could read as a stand alone poem too.
I like your work, especially The Evil Tree. Welcome to Write Out Loud, and please keep writing and sharing.

It all Happened on Saturday at Stockport Art Gallery - - -
Andy started the show don't you know
John the film director making that camera roll
Linda reading Liverpool poetry work-shop coming up
Maggie using expressive words for positive poems
Meshach arrived to give us pure gold
Nigel had orders not to be naughty!
We were joined by a fine band of experienced poets who made it a worthwhile event through and through!
There will be a W O L work-shop on April 9th 10.30-12 .30 also at the Art Gallery.
Followed by an open mic in the afternoon at 3.30-4-30.

Hey Lynne,
I really like your poems. The one about the young lovers was ace (19 year old lad and 25 year old girl). I'm very much learning the trade, so that's all for now

Hi Cynthia, thank you for your comments on my profile, and for missing me!
I agree that there are a lot of good poems on WOL, also that we can never be 'all things to all men'. We are all different and appreciate varying things, but the main thing is to respect those differences, as I'm sure you agree.
I like 'Girl in a lake' very much, and I'm honoured you like 'Teardrops in my Coffee'.

Hi Laura. Had a good sleep and thought more on Born Again. Hope I didn't come on too strong with my comment! I've made a nip and tuck, and I hope you might like it now. I feel it is more visually satisfying even though could upset the trads. x

Thanks Stu for your comment on Mother Nature the flower seller. I was quite surprised at the plethora of response. I was thinking of the lady in a Christmas Carol with the little waifs - it does seem be an enduring image.
Hope you're keeping up with all your responsibilities and getting lots of joy. !

'Holly and red berries' are symbols of the 'crown of thorns and the droplets of blood upon the face of Jesus' in the Passion Story of Eastertide. Considering the week, maybe your dream is not so unusual. Perhaps some memory twigged in your mind, even from childhood, especially a ghastly image. Or you're still fighting emotional ideas about the Story you can't yet confront rationally. Maybe never.
That'll be £1000, please. HAHA. I have more crust than bread. I'm part joking and part serious about the comments though. I read Freud's 'Dreams' many years ago; I thought I'd found a treasure in an old second-hand bookshop. But - after several attempts to 'understand the great thinker' I just pitched it. Some of it made some sense, and some of it seemed just like hogwash. I was totally disillusioned in its reputation. So, I'll never know whether I wasn't smart enough to understand, or smart enough to toss it out. Conundrum!
I love having you as a friend. The freedom!

Welcome to WOL. There must have been a lot of talent bubbling away for years just beneath the surface, a talent for acute observations, and a way with words, in whatever job you were in.

Lynn, I've missed you! Thanks for commenting on the 'poo' poem.
I don't log on daily, sometimes only twice a week, and then I do try to catch-up with reading Poetry Blogs, and making comments if I wish. I must look like a comment-hog sometimes, but I have to do it when I can. So I tell myself - don't worry about it - just enjoy your couple of hours. There are some fine poems on WOL these days, and many fine poets who have not returned after a short 'relationship' with the site. It is impossible to be 'all things to all men', yes?
I like 'Teardrops in my Coffee'.

Thank you all.
Okay ... so here's my edit .. er written 6 years later. What do you think?
The Poetess
It was the twelfth
Of the twelfth
and
She searched for
10 different ways
To say the same thing
Wrote 9 down
Pondered on 8
Chose the best 7
At 6 she thought she was complete
Then decided to use the first 1
In her pursuit to find
The perfect muse
Move away from the vacuous norm
She travelled
Sojourned many less-trodden shores
Met a rainbow of natives
With their golden pots of customs
Learnt popular forms of greetings
In various languages
Their clicks, whistles and phonetics
But only ever spoke in her mother tongue
Although inspired by
The smell of fresh, welcoming exotic fruit
A multi-dimensional array of intricate colours
The wind blowing her thick, jet black comb-twisted tresses
The swish and the swash of waves beating solid rocks
Luke warm coconut water sipped through a stripy straw
The sun casting shadows over weathered palm trees
The rhythmic motion of ebony biceps owned by pedlars massaging their patrons
Tepid salty water occasionally tapping the tips of her toes
She wrote nothing on her pad but, “When?”

Good morning Mr&Mrs D...(and Benji D!)...;O)
we apologise for not getting back to you sooner, but we've been up to our scrawny necks in one thing and another (hundred).............;o)
and re doing the 'disappearing act' for a while, well that was due to a certain lady (no names mentioned Patricia) who was left in charges of the 'controls' with the purpose of updating our profile, and ended up pressing all the wrong keys!
so having gone into an embarrassing forced retirement from WOL,we decided to let the shame down for a while-
hahaha!
Now,with the Master of the house (yeah right) at the wheel,so to speak, things, your friends are back to normal-or as normal as they medicinally can be-LOL!
lorra lorra love-
Patricia and Stef....xxx

Your bio is fabulous - especially 'on the tarmac' : waiting for take-off is prime poet's time - the suspension of thought and action - always with a tiny prayer tucked in there somewhere as the engines roar. I'll try to catch up with your work.

RE: re: moist air-Hi Cynthia.Firstly, let me put your mind at ease by assuring you that I would never consider you to be a rude person,in fact quite the opposite, kindly and helpful. With regards to the poem in question,it is fortunate that I didn't actually mention 'drops' had I done so,then I would certainly have agreed with your views. My intention was to induce an image of 'bedewing mist' building up on the window until it could no longer cling to the glass, and consequently started 'crying' down the pane.If you live/have lived in old property,I'm sure you would have 'experienced' seeing pools of condensation on the sill. Those gatherings of 'tears.' Hope this explanation is sufficient.Thank you.Jemima.
