I began writing poems and short stories as a young child but gave it all up when I entered Secondary School. My writing had been repressed for more than 20 years, my bug returned late Autumn 2015 during a tough period of my life. Bad times can create good Art. I write to release. I love Charles Bukowski albeit I don't read much poetry. I think most of it is rubbish, including some of my own. However, there is a tremendous amount of talent here and I enjoy reading the work of other writers. Some arrogance here also, which is never nice. Poetry is personal. Take the stick out of your bum.. If I see that you have plagiarised someone else's work on your blog, I will point it out, publicly.. I hope one day to publish my own book of poetry. \(O_<)/

The Fall (Audio Available Above) Rusty Autumn leaves falling gently from the trees. Floating down peacefully through the fresh October air. One by one they descend calmly. Appearing to fall without a care. A silent journey fills Mother Earths floor. A formation of splendid amber tones and colour, creating a carpet of lifeless veins and hardened stems. Falling downwards, the Autumn leaves continue to pour. I stop for a moment. I'm reminded of you. Closing my eyes, I try to stand still. Stopping by a tall Oak tree, I take a much needed breath or two. I thought I heard your voice echoing through. I stood still. No sound. Watching as another fallen leaf, softly touches the Autumn ground. In the end, we all eventually fall. You fell. I will fall too. But we don't all fall in silence or peace like the rusty Autumn leaves do. Some of us fall violently, calling out on our knees. I look around and I admire the natural beauty of the half naked trees. I sit down under the great old Oak and begin to contemplate your final fall. Wondering if you fell painlessly in silence or if you had to struggle and call. If only we all fell like the rusty Autumn leaves. Retiring gently in the wind, just like feathers swaying through the mild October breeze. In memory of my Father who fell on the sunny afternoon of March 31st 2016 -------------------------------------------- Talk They promise you the sun, the moon and the stars. Then they give you Hell. -Emer Ní Chorra ------------------------------------------------

I enjoy the way you explore emotions inside your poetry which seems to explain your thoughts in what ever situation you find yourself in.

Hi Emer - I do similar things with my poems & photos (usually as gifts for people!)it's a great way of self expression - I love your passion when writing about love - I too have never experienced love like the movies! But it's never too late I guess!!!
