Donations are essential to keep Write Out Loud going

The Reflector

entry picture

Wider hips, thinner lips and a few
more lines on my care worn face.
I'm getting old and getting told
I look younger.

Middle age has crept up on
me like a pick pocketing thief.
Still, I must remind myself to
breathe and enjoy each day of
good health before I decide
to completely write myself off.

What a privilege it is to be alive today.
To have hopes and dreams
for tomorrow, a mind full of
precious memories and priceless
lessons learned from earlier days.

Days when I had narrow hips,
plump lips and no lines on my face.
Only prescriptions for acne remedies
and hips like a 12 year old boy.
