Love (Remove filter)

My love for you will always stay.

Like a door not closed all the way.

I will love you in my own way.

Even if I must stay away.

star shaped stickers

when i see the girls who match my soft body,

when i see them wear the skirts, the tshirts, you know the ones.

well when i see them, i feel as though i must reach through to the other side

of the screen that seperates and give them a star shaped sticker.

the stickers that, while they got their flowers, we coveted on our walls.

it's awkwardly awkward trying to explain this to anothe...

TEENAGE GIRLS

who wants the teenage girl
sitting on her rustled bedsheets.
stained tshirt, stained tear tracks.
smiling, cooing and ooing at the people on the tv.
blushing when he kisses the girl she wants to be.
or when she sits alone in the cinema, grinning.
toothy smiles, outrageous laughs
too loud even for the rest.
seeing the best film in the world.
then another best film in the world.
co...

NEVER BEEN KISSED

love feels like cold jealousy.
sitting across from one another.
the table could be worlds and oceans.
i sting with furious stomach churning envy.
snakes and beetles scurrying between my legs.
closed and rotten now i know what i do.
she is so much younger than i,
the times my time was always first,
no longer exists.
she broke a cycle as old as i, and therefor
as old as my time.

I AM! I AM! I AM!

charcoal toothpaste.
teeth whitening strips.
water on a bathroom floor muddied with muttered songs.
cans of who and why on a windowsill.
forehead sweat. made to stick fringes.
quick to anger. founded in a parent not so unlike.
jerking awake. jolting asleep. comfort nul.
calm mornings when the sun alarms.
evil feelings when green and yellow lie dormant.
stuttered uttered eye contac...

wading deep, bloody water

its hard to measure a single beating heart
to measure its clawing judgement.
to measure the mothers beating blood while she’s
wrenching, retching and writhing.
its hard to measure disgust,
difficult to seethe while corps-less hearts beat inside you.
its easy to declare a hidden hate,
easy to let it wage a war on a world you don’t understand.
its hard to watch, fallen sisters.

The Breeze of Life

The breeze of lust
flows through the forest
of my heart
like a fallen ember
igniting the soul
of souls
housed within the growth
that has been my shield
The breeze of love
coalesces from the ocean
of my mind
like a gentle touch
filling my soul
of souls
housed within the depth
that has been my home
The breeze of lust
The breeze of love
together form one
to become
The breeze of li...

my first time

sounds of humming crickets overlay the morning dew

cold seeps through your jeans

eyes of disregard survey

you cover your chest

stained with black

you swallow and moan

then leave in red

Teacher

Today I sit here in my car, trying to hold back tears, trying to stay strong

A teacher....

Teach your students colors, shapes, letters, numbers, teach them about life, and now keep them safe from guns

Today I sit here in my car, trying to hold back tears, trying to stay strong, remember you are a teacher

Teach your students to not be afraid, yet in your heart you know the world is again...

Thank You Dad

Thank you Dad.

Thank you for your deep deep love.

For always making me feel so special and loved.

For teaching me to pass on that love to my own children.

I could not have felt more loved.

Thank you Dad.

Thank you for sharing with me your love of music and poetry.

For reading to me at bedtime and encouraging my love of books.

For instilling in me the love of words and ...

You Are Everything

You are the one bright star in a cloudy night sky,

You are the distant beacon on a stormy dark sea,

You are the twinkle that flickers in my eye,

You are everything to me.

You are the single flower that grows through the weeds,

You are the last autumn leaf that clings to the tree,

You are the one strong shoot amid barren seeds,

You are everything to me.

You are the...

Nervous

A crush on the Barista.

A tale as old as coffee shops themselves, if I’m not mistaken.

An old and tired one frankly.

This is her place of business.

I mean no disrespect.

I keep my mouth shut, for fear of other people’s bullshit,

derailing my own.

Latte art and conversation with strangers.

Oh, to have that kind of confidence.

Oh, to be that beautiful.

Couldn’...

Sunflower

A sunflower?

I remember when you first called me that.

It caught me so off guard.

How can a sunflower bloom if it never faces the sun?

My stalk has hardly any structure.

I am useless against the trials of this life.

Bend enough, and you’ll break.

You went back to your last flower.

I don’t hold it against you, there’s history there.

I just can’t put it into word...

Pieris

Pieris

The color yellow looks different when I look through your eyes,

As if the fields are made of emeralds decorated in butterflies,

And then I see pollen fly and descend to the wind’s singing

And embed themselves into beds’ sheets’ linen.

The coursing of dance mimics a river current

And I involuntarily admire your freckles and the rose of your cheeks like they’re sunbu...

I Wonder If...

I wonder if you

Ever got to hold

the starlight in your eyes

In the palm of your hand

When you left

I wonder if you

Spin candy floss

from passing clouds

And siphon cider

from the sun

I wonder if you

Weave blankets from dusk

And yawn

the colours of dawn

I wonder if you

Shower in rainbows

And shake the colours

upon waking flowers

The Lonely Old man Sits by the Window

the lonely man at the window

the old man sits by the window

she left him here yesterday

said she would be back soon

he went to bed but could not sleep

has she stayed away on purpose?

next morning he arises again

to sit and wait even if it takes an eternity

he said he would wait

and that he did until his dying day

this morning at daybreak

My Lonely Love

Do not weep
My lonely love
I'll find ye
in the heather
Within the garden
of our souls
Where we
shall join together

Like days of old
My lonely love
We'll bathe
in amber light
And be preserved
My lonely love
'Til time
bids us goodnight
