after going through
reading all your comments
i have forgotten what i meant to say
when i logged in
i missed breakfast!
oh well
thanks for your bi-Polarism
speaking of that
since you traveled extensively
have you been to the Antarctic?

Also I like the fact that you quote YOURSELF.
Now that takes some hubris. but I can like them.
I also have something to say...but
it's not worth repeating. Wink.

Hi Ian - welcome back.
From a UK's point of view, fascism has never taken real
root in the public consciousness. The likes of Moseley and
William Joyce were more often viewed with derision and
a healthy distrust/distaste. The strutting was never likely
to be popular here with so many absolute power kings and
dictators to call upon, allied to a sense of humour that
can drive the uninitiated potty!
Far more insidious perhaps was the far left secretive POV
that saw traitors and their sympathisers consorting in
Cambridge and/or in unsuspecting trusting high society,
suddenly to come to wider public attention when their unexpected departure for "unfriendly shores" signalled something amiss...when not attending to the Queen's
collection of art works, of course. ?

Sorry for the confusion Taylor, the picture I have posted holding a feather is actually just a promo picture I made yesterday that I thought I'd use to replace my current profile picture and aid in advertising. Hopefully the actual cover of my book will evoke its namesake and be just as eye-catching as your own book - with the flowers and all. Alas, I am using actual pressed flowers for a cover so as of now they are still in my textbook being weighed down by a fireproof safe.? Should be done in time though. . .

Hi Ray

Thanks once again for the positive comments - just to let you know, The Same Old Dance is made up.

It came from a writing exercise using the picture that I have posted with the poem (The Dance by Paula Rego).
The exercise was to look at the picture and imagine the world that it exists in the picture and then write down 6 laws that operate within the world/picture. Then I had to write a monologue speaking as an inhabitant of the world, but not refer directly to the laws.

Cheers

DJB

Hello Taylor,

I just can’t believe that at last I have found a like minded poet! So encouraging what you say in your profile, very brave and very, very true. Your poem ‘who said that’ is word for word how think about my poetry, and proves it’s not just me with those same opinions! I will never win any competition as I’m incapable and not interested in writing ‘contemporary amazing poetry’ even though I wrote a rhyming poem for Princess Anne, poetry magazines said “so what” we still are not interested in your stuff. Must dash, going to read all your work! Take care

Mr. Horton, I look forward to reading more of your work as I can find the time. 'The Risk of Metaphor' is both severe and funny at the same time. Much enjoyed.

May I ask why you included 'not even a flame-white one'?

Hello Kenny,
This poem proves to me that you are not insane as you stated in your profile because you write from the heart as all good poets do. You have some talents which are artistic so it is incumbent on you to use them. Keep writing and maybe send your beloved a poem as well.
Thank you for such a genuine poem
