Hi Richard,
Sorry about the misinterpretation of your poem.
I read it 3 times and got the same feeling each time. It was as if he enjoys the silence of being alone but she simply feels lonely.
The bereft feeling i got was whenever he was about to leave.
I've just read it again and felt the same. Perhaps it's the punctuation or the way it's laid out on the page, but i'm certainly not the one to ask how it would read any differently.
Maybe other poets would see what is intended. But that's the beauty of good poetry. Each person who reads it will "see" something different, depending on how it relates to them.
Love Janet.x

Hi Richard, how's it going? What you been up to, not heard from you for a while?
Did you see my poems for July. The last one, about the man in the moon, was for my daughter, but the other two are very deep, the first one 'When will it pass' is personal.
Appreciate your thoughts if you haven't seen them, cheers Jeff

Hi there,
I always hated the Beatles as a youngster. Got really pissed off when they were always number 1 in the charts.
" If i was," is brilliant. Love it.

Thanks very much for your feedback. I think your poem goes very well with mine, it's so busy sounding, it really gives you the image of people bustling about on a city street. See you next month at Middleton.

Hi, Tomas.
Thank you for your comment. Walls can be our allies, keep the cold hands of life out, or it can be our enemy, keeping life away from us. But no matter what wall we stand behind, everything we are will always be known to the ghosts walking through like in your poem, The Unseen Shadow, which I really liked. :)

Loved the comparison between red and white wine. I reckon there's room for both in my life.
John Peel. What fantastic memories!
This is funny as it is serious. Great poem, just oozing with imagery.

Hello, Tomas
Thank you for your comment and information in regard of your poetry site. Any of the languages you mentioned I am not fluent. Do know some vocabulary though,
but that is not enough to be a translator. It is good to hear from you. I like the idea that you are going to write about Egypt, would be interested to red the poems. The subject of an Ancient Culture really fascinates.
Have a great weekend!
Thank you,
Zuzanna

i've heard you do this one before but found it great to be able to read it at leisure, needle sharp observations "i knew diversity would prove too human" is a killer line among many.

i think poetry as all art is useful and important in a private way most of all, it's most useful in informing life choices but as for something more collective? one famous poet's quote was that not one single poem saved a single person from the gas chambers, and i agree but i wouldn't go as far as to take oscar wilde's tongue in cheek comment that all art is quite useless completely seriously, but to be honest i think in many ways a small part of that sentiment rings true

Hi Tomas - not sure I have a style; certainly not one I could name! I have no idea what Standard Habbie means - it sounds like half a 'knock knock' joke! Regret I don't do any links - a bit like the chip-shop that doesn't cash cheques? But I see we write on similar topics so if I did - you would be there. (:o) Regards.

Although i like the poem about the tree,
who really wants to be a table.
I think of my tree of life.
Although i like the sounds of a carpenter,
i wouldn't want to be his wife.
He might make me into a table.
So i thankyou for entertaining me,
but now i really must leave as i'm
in danger of becoming a table.
Or is it just a fable?
