Hey Shelley,
popped along to thank you for commenting on my profile. Glad i made you laugh.
One thing i hadn't noticed before in your cv.
What a great idea about a poetry boat to the isle of man. One amongst many places i've yet to visit.
I know there are a few people on this site who also live there. How about it wol?

Hello Rodney,
Thanks for your comments on my recent blogs.
The two suffragette ones were written with performance in mind and went down quite well at Wigan.
Pardon my ignorance but i really have no idea who Makowski is. I googled it and it gave me far too many Makowski names to choose from.
I'm a hopeless case i know.

Jeff, you always take the time to read our work and I'm happy to see you developing in your confidence and writing. I enjoy your work especially because of your musical passions. I am more inspired by good song lyrics than poetry, but then I think good song lyrics are poetry. I think that quality musicians and bands have a lot going for them in terms of poetic influence. Take Roger Waters for example.
Thank you for your kindness and sincerity and understanding.
Its of no surprise that you have so much love here Jeff.
Look forward to seeing you soon. I may get t the green rooms this Thursday.

Hey Andy,
thanks for your comment on suffragette writer.
How do you know it comes across lovely live?
Were you hiding in a corner somewhere at the Tudor last thursday night?
Or could it be you imagined how my voice sounds while you read it?
See you soon, hopefully.

Hi Mark
Just spotted your comment on my 'If I was...' poem. Ta for that (and the extra stanza!... maybe you're right i should just keep adding to it. Hell, why stop?
Anyway - that's how I came to your page and I love your stuff - hard to choose a favourite, nice mix of sinister, playful, quirky ideas and that all important 'miserable bastard' one at the end.
Hope to catch you live some time!

Hi Belinda, did you know your just under me now on the poets showcase list!
I've just read your reply to me on your comments! Great stuff, don't worry made me laugh, easy to do, I commented on someone's profile once about a poem they hadn't even written, easy done!
Thanks for your comments about my sanctuary. I see what you mean about the 1st stanza, never even crossed my mind! Fair point really, but I think I'll have to leave it in as it has the title in it! It's probably in my way setting the scene, thanks though very useful.
Teaching English and learning Japanese, wow, sounds great, a friend of mine is in Thailand doing the same thing, but not learning japanese obviously!
Right brew time catching up with more poetry, feel free to look at my other months work on the blog entries (theres all sorts of stuff - even one about using the correct Queens english - you will teach 'em better than they do here!) if you get time and let me know what you think, really appreciate it!
Bye for now, Jeff X

Hi Belinda, or whatever it is in Japanese!
Good to know you appreciated feedback, and thanks for your comments about my work, means a lot.
I can imagine its quite manic in many parts of Japan although I''ve never been and the frustration came through in your poem
How did you end up in Japan and what are you doing there? Apart from the capital and a few cities.
Good luck with the language - I don't know much about Japanese, apart from that all words end in a vowel or the letter 'n' - mine of useless information!
Good to hear from you, take care Jeff X
ps i've put a new poem on tonight!

Hello Jeff,
Thank you for your comments on my poem. Like you I'm relatively new to writing, and I'm exploring new avenues all the time.
I did think that the ZXombie poem was rather short, so thank you for confirming this for me.
I live and work in Japan and like more and more countries around the world, people are just sooo busy and can't see the wood for the trees, this is what my poem is about, if you hadn't guessed already.
I really like your poems, keep up the good work.
Belinda x

Zuzanna I Can 'hear' the accent in your voice. Where in europe are you descended from? To sound your origins as a fingerprint is the magic of our identity. Think the site is great and the community very enlivening and supportive.
There is a strong spiritual attunedness in your writing which I find transporting, lifting.
Delighted to chat with you,
Moira

Hello Moira
Welcome to WOL - beautiful Poetry site. Thank you for the nice comment you wrote for me. I am of European descent but live in Canada for half of my life. Knowledge of few foreign languages makes me speak with an accent that I will perhaps carry on for the rest of my life. Had no opportunity to take an intonation courses in English Literature therefore my accent still falls on different syllables.
It is great to have you with us. Keep penning on; I like the style in your writing.
Kind Regards,
Zuzanna Musial

Hi "Fikus,"
After reading your profile, you've either taken the time and trouble to go on a writing course or you are a natural born poet. ( you lucky devil.)
I love how you wrote " a war of words." and the two liners which gave me the image of a double barrelled shot-gun, shaped like a pen.
I could feel the pressing of the tip on a biro, on-off. on-off.
I like both your samples. They have a really good rhythm.
Thanks for sharing , Janet.x

Hi Steve! was gonna let you know I'd blogged it but you beat me to it!
Please be assured I've no Robbie in my collection!! You can sleep easy!! You have to put something in for the girls!!
Yes a quite eclectic colletion, mainly punk and new wave but some more main stream stuff like U2, REM Pink Floyd etc. Recently I must be getting soft or more poetic, like Amy McDonald!!
Love music and spent my life going to gigs.
Thanks for comment, see you soon, Jeff

Alreet Jeffo... Sunday was a good night. Nay, Sunday was a fine night and one to be recorded in the annuls of WOL folklore.
As far as tribute bands go - I'm afraid I don't do tribute bands. As good as they are, they're not the real McCoy. The Stanglers are inimitable. If I heard a tribute band I wouldn't be able to get the concept of 'Jive Bunny' or 'Stars on 45' out of my head.
It's the boys themselves or nothing for me. If you're going in October/ November let me know. I usually get to a couple of gigs in and around the North West. Although Dublin would be a good one?
Somewhere outside Tokyo invented time.
Someone with a million watches invented time...
Poetry.
