I remember (at times) staring past each others shoulders- I remember reading you: the lines you have now left in another's sand, I read your posts like some 'ackowlagement' acknowledgement of its past. Though the shoulders were always in the way. I 'appoligise' apologise for this. My miss-spelling is my way of saying sorry. Tommy x

Thanks for commenting on Agapanthus, John. They are quite tender plants, aren't they, originating from South Africa. I haven't had a great deal of luck with them. And maybe they don't like it so far north?!

Hello MC,
Thankyou for your thoughts on "I Blame The Scapegoats". It really does amaze me that people seem not to realise that we are all the problem. It's the mentality of being stuck in a traffic jam and blaming all the other motorists.

Thanks for your comment on my latest Yvonne. Yes - some people just like to dominate/intimidate, be it their wifey or their children.
I suppose there must be women like that around too, but I think it's less common. That might have something to do with the physicality thing or the economics of who pulls in the bigger wage.
Relationships are much healthier when there is equality I think - though maybe it's horses for courses.

You're right Yvonne and it seems there will be more of these situations developing with more cuts on the way.
People will have less opportunities to 'dig' their way out.
Happy New Year

very kind comments Mike, I would love to see the comments on your facebook page - how I do I find it? Please feel free to pass it on - am really trying to go back to why I started writing in the first place - the reflect back the world, to say something, to come from the heart {excuse the cliche but there is no other way to put it}. I think Wilfred Owen did that, as did Gerard Manley Hopkins, Edward Thomas etc... - I used to do arts presenting on tv many years ago and did a prog on Wilfred Owen - I went to the house he was in a youngster in Shrewsbury and also met one of his descendants, who let me hold his war medals, his lighter and his christening robe - touching the hem of history! Anyhow, thanks again Mike,
Andrew Fusek Peters

Thanks for your thoughts on "The Red Wheelbarrow". You may have guessed that it was my tongue-in-cheek contribution to the dabate on the original in the Discussions section.

Hello AE,
Thanks for your thoughts on "Fairytale of New Britain". Whilst I take a more "personal responsibility" view of the state of the nation, I do like the idea of a contest between parliament and poets. Of course, we have elected them to parliament but appointed ourselves as poets. Perhaps a more democratic method of determining poets/poetry might not be a bad idea?

Hello MC
Thankyou for your thoughts on "Fairytale of New Britain". I find it rather sad that mine was the "chosen generation". We really did "never had it so good" and the saddest thing is - no subsequent generation will.

Thanks again for the encouragement
By the way when you dropped me off the other night and made the comment "you will be wrong" and I smiled and said "I know". I wasnt making light of it. I really do know....
I'd already written something that day in an email.
At times it seems that my life journey is a series of failures holding varying degrees of severity and all I have to hold me together while travelling this wonderful tapestry of almost unending fuck ups is the adhesive of good intention along with a stoicism that is almost belligerently defiant in the fact that I choose to smile at each and every fuck up and move onto the next without anxiety or anticipation. Maybe this is a victory in itself?

You should post that lovely poem you wrote about your son - that was a very moving performance piece.

It's probably the highly sophisticated search engines that know what your preferences are Anthony. It will be more to do with your viewing habits rather than Steves ;;)

Hello Cathy. Many thanks for your kind comments on And Trio's.
I am embarrassed by the sentiments of some of the commentors who have all assumed that the piece is biographical.
I will of course explain to each, however I have not experienced a tragedy, but have merely been inspired by the potential of one.
Thank you once again for your feedback.
Very best regards,
Graham

A.E. - thanks for your comment about my carol.
It is doubly pleasurable to get positive feedback from those whose work I also enjoy.
I was blessed with inspiration in getting the
words and "traditional" feel I sought and hope
to get it commercially recorded one of these
days. It's about "travelling in hope", I guess.
Enjoy your Christmas!

Thanks for the comment(s) about my carol. The
words came "as in a dream" and I surprised myself by getting a tune almost as readily.
I love the old carols and had a wish to contribute my own personal effort to the genre.
It is hugely satisfying to have done that and
I may yet get it on a commercial Christmas CD in the future.
I imagine your updates on a range of pop songs
must go down well in "live performance". You
seem to have NO shortage of material or inspiration. Great stuff.
Merry Christmas!
