Religious Dogma

From the dawn of man when he perceived

When he philosophised about conduct of the life to lead

Hallucination and myth began to unfold

The roots of religious dogma began to grow

Religious text stemmed from man made stories

Written by scholars to express their theories

Taking what you will from whatever you agree

But blind faith is foolish, it is so unreal

Devil

Beware the shadow by the corner dark,
For there he waits for seven reasons sour,
His wicked tongue hath limitless remark,
Whilst therein seeking whom he may devour.

Be sober and be vigilant thy kin,
Thy adversary waits beneath the pyre,
Then walks about as proud as the lion,
To drag thy wayward souls towards the fire.

Northern Lights (54th)

Northern Lights (54th)

The Northern Lights are ablaze tonight

And, oh, I’m feeling down.

You never could just treat me right,

You always played around.

This fallen angel’s lost his wings

And come, at last, to ground –

While all the while my world turns

And those Northern Lights go round.

The heavens glow with neon arcs

The skyline blazes brigh...

Danse Macabre (The Dance of Death)

entry picture

Oh streets, your weeping cobbles shine
Against the moonlight, wailing sirens
Beckon those that have succumb
To fill your guttered lines with souls.
Blistered, bloated, wandering lost
Through invalid eyes – flies feast
On stale skin, as deep within
The eruptions pulse to a deathly drum.
One by one they fall in line
Upon swarming sewer drains,
Stacked, like broken branches cau...

Golden Dream

I open my eyes

Life is strange, full of fear

I have lived many a year

Never looking at the bricks

Just staring at walls

Travelling on a narrow and winding road

A fork triplicating my soul

Religion provides a gleaming light

A golden dome forever bright

Questioning the Creator's proven might

Engrossed by tempting Masonic majesty

Praying to a...

What if the NHS was one of us?

No home, no job, just 12 good friends.

Betrayed by one who swore they never would.

Died too soon for pointless reasons.

What if God the NHS was one of us?

I Miss You

Hello there,

Angel from my nightmares.

Devil from my dreams

a grey spirit that weaves

its way through my existence.

What a Dementor does to souls

or a Dalek to a human heart.

Even a superhuman heart

can break.

Just ask Logan,

a force so strong

a returning phoenix

could not reignite remnants.

I miss you.

Whatever you ...

Just Because

Don’t patronise me because I have found spirituality

In fact I pity thee who raise a barrier to inner peace

Don’t let negativity come between you and reality

Just because the Papacy used scripture and literacy to control the catholic community

Just because Christianity causes a lot of controversy when taken literally

Just because science a...

MAN MADE RELIGION

With the exceptions of some fine buildings and inspirational songs that have appeared here over the years,, I'm not a fan of man-made religions.  I realised long ago, with the Crown Versus Church struggle, that it is

essentially about control.  And the sight of those gorgeous robes and the rest of the paraphernalia on show

merely enforces my cynicism and finds me reverting to my school ...
