G'day from WA! All caught up on your writing now, including your children's book. Congratulations - it is also beautifully illustrated.
So glad you enjoyed my French Cinquains. They are addictive - once you master the style, there's no stopping!
Keep writing and reading, Nicola.

A splendid aspect of this site is its 'record'. Closing the gap of five years is really quite splendid. I so remember all those names too, from the early years.

Piper. You devil you. Saying you use vulgar language and graphic imagery led me thirsting for some spicy stuff. He won't know you touched something pleasurable. OK what's coming next thought I. The mind boggles! Then you pulled the rug out from under me in the second verse. It was the thought you were touching. Expertly crafted Piper.
Pleased to make your acquaintance
Don ?

Fine summer weather Marple folk entered
asking us what was going on?
telling them Book Fair on you know
being held in the Oldknow tonight
we didn't know but will stay for a bit
doing our best to the few that came
next time maybe the word will get out
that our lot are coming to the Oldknow
so next year if we go back maybe a crowd
rather than the odd drinker strolling in
finding out why we are doing our poetry stuff!
Big thank you to all the poets who came down

Tom,
Your style of writing fascinates me as it touches upon the soul, the inner self of who we feel we are and in relation to others. There is something sporadic in the way you hold a subject and then attempt to explore it. Two lines which are repetitive work well with the way you write.
Thank you
Keith

Hi Cynthia,
Thankyou for your welcome on my profile. I am pleased to have found 'you lot'. Been feeling intellectually deprived down here. You'll have to forgive any 'putting-my-foot-in-it' comments I might make. 'I'm just a lowly poet trying to learn the ropes' ... and sometimes have trouble controlling my mind.
Thankyou for interacting
Don?

Welcome to WOL, Mr. Matthews. You'll enjoy this 'lot'. We're a very mixed bag in every conceivable way, but we are united in the need to write and to share poetry. And we love to comment and receive comments.
We are world-wide.
(This 'lot' - you 'lot' etc. is pure Bermudian slang, for 'group of people'. Haven't used it in years - and up it popped - effortlessly.)

Thank you for your comment on my poem In The Tower.
I do understand what you mean.
I have written a poem called 'Men Can Cry Now', it's on my blog, written back in February.
I sensed a change by something I had seen on TV about men now being able to show their feelings in public. Especially crying.
Thanks again with your support with my writing.
