Hi Sarah,
I'd love to expand this poem for a children's book but unfortunately I wouldn't know where to begin.
I do like writing narrative poems, some have an adult twist such as Boy what a Lady! and the Princess and the Frog (which needs a rewrite). I'm working on several storylines at the moment but it takes me a while to get them onto paper.
Thanks for your interest and if I did ever get a poem published I'd know where to come for an illustrator.

hello Wayne
I'm just replying to your reply on the Christmas Turkey poem if you do decide to give it a try and need an illustrator
I would definitely be interested in doing some illustrations for you if you decide to make a children's book from this poem
have a think about it and get back to me
I think it would be a fabulous children's book
no harm in trying x?

Hi Sarah,
I've just seen your message
"have you ever thought of turning this into a children's book?
it would be wonderful to read with illustrations x Comment is about Wayne McLellan (poet profile)"
I'm still getting the hang of the WOL website- but I think it was in relation to my "Turkey in sheep's clothing" poem. I wouldn't know how to get started with an illustrated book . However I'm attempting to set up a Youtube channel and record my voiceover with pictures etc. Early days but hopefully I'll get there soon. Thanks for taking the time to comment on my profile x

Mae, you do make me smile. You're like an old fashioned tea kettle on the high boil.
When I was a young teacher, sharing a flat with a fellow teacher, I put our kettle on for teatime - and then forgot it - utterly. I think I was playing a favourite record, loudly, and probably dancing around with complete concentration. Spaced out!
It exploded! And the cloud that filled the apartment, plastered the ceiling and the windows, our books and our furniture, was just awful!
With such intense energy that you have, don't forget to turn down, or even off, sometimes. Don't explode.

Hi Martin, thank you so much for your kind words on 'Arrival'. I was asked by my sister to write a poem concerning immigrants/ immigration but given how things are so polarised at the moment, I have tried to be very careful in my framing. Granted, less so in the last stanza. ?
Anywho, thanks again,

Thanks Kevin, it's really appreciated. As you said, I like prose and verse, but also like writing in rhyme, it just seems to work better in my head, I need a rhythm you know? The jaberwock was one of the very first nicknames I ever had, partly because I could recite it at a very young age, and though no-one uses that name for me now, it's just always resonated for some reason. To be fair mate I always look for your posts too.

Hi Jason
I always look out for your postings because I like your rhymes and structures. Like yourself I enjoy reading prose, but prefer to write rhymes.
This is the first time that I have actually looked at your profile. I like your avatar with the Jabberwock/Dragon. and though I liked the picture I wondered why you chose it as your avatar. Glad that you explained that, it all makes sense now.
Cheers Kevin

Ah! One of them is my nom de guerre and the other is mine for legal purposes. That, or I got confused when I initially set up this account, some years ago now - I seem to recall it asking if I wanted a username and the resultant confusion arose somewhere along the way. Not that this clears up the fundamental riddle, of course: why 'Richie Muster'? That, of course, is a different question.
