Thankyou for looking at my Manboobs, Alison. I did try an all-over corset once but found it a little embarrassing when the constable had to help me off with it.

Hi Win;
Cheers for the comments on the poem on 'Before the Curtains Open'.
Must admit this ended up been one of those poems, I must admit that started off that started in one direction and ended up in totally another if that makes sense, but it is a snapshot really of a recent memory.
But glad you like it and I am pleased you think it is one of my best. I will defo keep my eyes open for a suitable competition, or if not it'll appear in my next collection - lol.
Cheers – A

Hi Tom;
Cheers for the comments on the poem on 'Before the Curtains Open'.
Although I do like sometimes writing in complex language, this is a piece where I use the language to totally differnt effect, and it ended up been one of those poems, I must admit that started off that started in one direction and ended up in totally another if that makes sense, but it is a snapshot really of a recent memory.
But glad you like it

Hi Cynthia - re; Tube Ride - the ky gel idea was adopted from a short story I wrote a while back - I wanted to show the 2 main characters previous night's romp via a conversation with the chambermaids with the stooge finding the ky gel and asking a load of dumb questions which enabled the smart one to reveal what had taken place the previous evening without actually mentioning the sexual act - the problem was I didn't know the name of the lubricant and embarassed had to ask a Boot's chemist's assistant without sounding like a perv - fortunately I found a mature lady explained why I needed to know and we both shared a good laugh - so there you have the plot - much obliged for your comments

Hopefully run into each other one day at an open mic. All the best.

I love your poem by the way, it's filled with some very poignant images.

Hi Dave,
Good to hear from you - I hope things are well with you. I haven't been around much of late; I am getting to grips with a new job, which doesn't leave me too much spare time unfortunately. I haven't lost interest and I've looked in (without logging in) from time to time, although only to read. As usual I see the great eclectic mix that is the world of WOL! I have a few bits of nonsense on the backburner somewhere - well, mainly in this addled noggin of mine if I'm truly honest. They're in there somewhere - it's the surgical removal that's the problem! I hope to be able to contribute again soon - watch that space. Class you said? Would that be the remedial one?
Take care and best regards,
A.E.

Hi Ann - thanks for your comments on Trio - ashes eh? The Royle Family Christmas programme was all centred around that subject this year don't know if you saw it - but amid the humour that comes from tragedy there was a positive message that eventually it is time to scatter the remains - which is a kind of letting go - as one famous poet said, 'it is only by letting go that we get them back' glad this poem resonated x

Yup, salt - all of those things :) I love how you pick up on all that - but salt has always removed stains...in a real physical sense. Unless it's mixed with hot water, of course ;D
Good to see you back btw.

Glad you liked 'Love is...' I actually blogged it twice before and then instantly deleted it because I felt it was so cliched...and you know how much trouble I've got into here by criticising cliches. :-)
Dealing with cliche minefields like 'love', 'the moon', 'shagging' etc. is almost the point of poetry...how to say it again, but differently. That's poetry.
Thanks for the lovely feedback.

Thank you for your appreciation of my latest poem.
I only posted it because of the 'Love is...' thread on the Wonderland section of the 'Discussions' section on here...have you been following that one? I wrote this ages ago but didn't dare post it because I think it's a cliche...and I've been a bit too fond of criticising other people's cliches so I hadn't got the nerve to post it until the 'Love is...' thread on Wonderland appeared.
Glad you enjoyed it.
:-)
