Carloline Riley has sent me an e-mail saying how much she enjoyed last week.
She also said anyone in the group who wants her to use their poem can e-mail it to her.
I have asked for details of the website our poems might go on.

Hello Sian,
many thanks for your very flattering comments.
I don't know about you but I am finding writing particularly harder as time goes by.
I write monthly for a living and it seems to drain something out of me, leaving little left for creative work.
When I am inspired it pours out but the waiting is unbearable.
thank you once again and KEEP WRITING
Graham

I was just introduced to your poetry through "Into the Bardo". Wow! You are an amazing person, my sorrows were uplifted simply by your words. When one is struggling with the pain and suffering from a deep injustice your words match those feelings and brought me comfort!
May you be blessed to continue your good work and please keep informed when there is any way that we can help!
I am struggling to make a connection myself between injustice and hope right now, so I am looking forward to your new project.

Hello Cynthia.. I enjoyed your 'to plumb the depths ' poem .. unfortunately most humans aren't self-analytical and just plumb the depths .. it only makes sense if you can be brought to tears by life - and stop.

Lovely work John - I've been bit engrossed in trying to make a name performing - it's working I've got a 1 hour plus show in the Liverpool Comedy festival this month. Onwards and upwards to all the poets out there that love their work to be read.
I'll be doing a bit more reading on here now.
Cheers mate.

Cheers Laura for your wonderful review of 'Scots wha hea!' ;)
re your further comment- I find the 'debate'(on Scottish independence) both interestingly provocative and outrageously deceptive. It really does just pip Oscar (Precious) Pistorius' trial for mendacity, incompetence and contempt from the leading 'players'. If it were not for the seriousness of the issues involved it would be hilarious.

Hi Cynthia, thanks for commenting on my latest. 'Mistitled' is more directly examining the human trait of wanting to shed fame through self-destruction. It was actually written before Robin Williams (RIP) was still with us, a couple of months ago, but I agree that it can be linked directly to his own 'case'.

I have 'studied' the philosophers so named entirely on my own, and also have ploughed through various 'proofs of God' with great interest. I have many philosophy books on my shelf, chiefly garnered from university 're-cyle stalls' and general second-hand book shops. Never having been 'organized for regurgitation' in a test situation, I have mainly a 'feeling' of these ideas, but an overview which has greatly enriched my thinking.
I have 'The Age of Belief' (The Medieval Philosophers) by Anne Fremantle right at my elbow, and a 1936 volume called 'The Testament of Man', a collection of works from very Ancient Times in All Cultures, many early ones from rocks and reeds. It is the commonality that blows my mind.
It's really fab to even broach such a subject as this without encountering a pained expression from the other person - I'm assuming.

Everything, I think: God, creation, first causes, cause and effect, infinite regression, Thomas Aquinas, Anselm and all those medieval philosphers with their 'proofs' for the existence of God. Not saying, that anyone else wouldn't be obsessed with all that stuff too, but I think I had a pretty theological education like James Joyce.

Laura, re: The Blessed Man, sometimes front line capitals just feels right. Perhaps it is the subject here, so universal and simple, which maybe requires those 'standard rules' to which readers will immediately relate.
And nothing is more universal than fairy tales. Or mythology - sort of the same point... sort of.
