17.04.25 – 59:46) Once again I rise to find last night still on my mind

OPA the place to be Zack the emcee

Makin’ sure Jojo was comfortable there, providin’ a welcome chair

An’ she’s delightin’ folks with her recitin’

Her poetry flowed; appreciation showed

Now today is departure day an’ I’m away

Filled up my thermal cup, luggage stowed, hit the road

Up the 183 Think I’ll pay the toll, now let me roll

Get my load on that familiar road I can be found Midland bound

Once more on the second leg of this year’s poetry tour

60:47) Too late for breakfast, too early for lunch gonna have me a brunch

Chicken dippers look okay with coffee should fill me up for the day

They’re eaten an’ I’m away

Engine started in economy move, once again the road poet hits the road

61:48) Roads is good an’ clear, keep in a higher gear

Just watch I don’t go to fast, my elation won’t last

Cos’ the last thing I’m needin’ is the cops givin’ me a ticket for speedin’

An’ it’s a sunny day as the miles fall away

But there could be troubles a plenty if I can’t get off the I20

Eventually it’s done, to the motel I run

It’s hot but one thing’s plain it’s great to be back in Midland again

62:49) Destinations open mic I’m gonns do, was last there in 2022

November as the year got old boy was it cold

Now I’m back for poetry, music an’ fun

An’ were doin’ it outside in the warm evenin’ sun

63:48) Went on stage to strut my stuff

Thought five poems would be enough

Along with the notion to do an event promotion

First a tribute to a past poet then four of mine

All in rhyme an’ not in vain

The audience applauded with high fives I was lauded

An I was told “You’re always welcome back again”.
