Last Word

Were I to write especially for you

Admitting emotions, far before they're due

Were I to feel a longing for your touch

Confessing my sin of wanting it too much

A noteworthy charm your messages convey

I can tell that you are smiling as you write to me that way

A playful endeavour as we natter back and forth

Both parts teasing as we equally want more

Were I to m...

Shouty Face

I think that you are quite unique,

From ear to ear, then down to feet

Sat atop your mind you speak,

Sometimes funny, sometimes sweet

Lots of people seem the same,

They live their lives and play their games

Now and then they use their brains

But not too often, ain't that insane?

You are you and that's what matters

So ignore, the chitter chatter

Small minded t...

What do you represent?

I represent the entirety of my peers.

I represent my profession, my passions, humanity, the man on the street.

I represent the homeless, the loveless, those with respect and those I respect.

I represent you, I represent me, I represent what "they say".

I represent facts, I represent theories, I represent questions, ideals and ideas.

I represent dreams, I represent fears,

I repres...

Rational Identity

I am from the sun, the moon and all that lies between.

I am from the dark, the light and that which isn't seen.

I am from whence the wind blows and home is ever out of reach.

I am from the all lives I've touched and the lessons within.

I am love, I am fear, I am truth, I am sin.

I am where I belong, though I yearn to fit in.

I am mocked, I am scorned and all the persecu...

She

She,

is not yet an old soul. Such apprenticeship has not yet begun.

Studiously she watches as you cite your second hand wisdom.

Bested by her innocence,  such familiar nostalgia withers like the thick layer of dust it hides beneath.

Shaken and bruised like brine against an ice cube,  the vermouth of your ideals is poured into an ill fitting glass.

Left feeling dirty you turn to d...

I'll get back to you

Five words can be all it takes to set your mind at ease for a while.

Great, I'm not forgotten you'll think.

I am of interest.

But time passes.

Time heals all wounds?

Time brings with it opportunity for worry.

Time is the enemy of the impatient.

Time feeds the anxious like oxygen feeds a flame, fuelling the panic until it burns so brightly it consumes everything in it...

Upon Reflection

After spitting a slurry of peppermint blood down the sink hole I raise my head, catching his gaze staring back at me.

He judges me every morning, looking  at me with remorseful, pitying eyes.

He knows my sins, he judges me for all my mistakes and mocks me for my weaknesses.

Some days I don't even see him there, eyes glaze over like the milky white of a tarnished vase, hiding stems in unat...

Twilight Reclusive

When the night doth come, weary follows distantly.

Toiling farther from the dawn with each passing sunset, offers not the distraction so sought out by its woeful captor.

With worried mind and worried soul and yearning for slumber. Not for rest, but for release.

Relentless is the repeat of ruminating reasoning. Soul wrenching speculation scews sensibility, until slowly and sluggishly sle...

Bad Joke

Bad joke number one. At first a whimsical gesture, a throw away comment, nought but the larks song to win your attention.

Bad joke number two. The brush off, the guise, nothing more than a vulnerable boy hiding behind his painted face as he clutches at a pumpkin bucket, barely able to lift his gaze as he utters meek words, mouthing "Trick,or treat?"

Bad joke number three. Confidenc...
