Brown as Comfort

entry picture

Kiss she dabble touch lady

Lately lady gentle cool linger smile

Warm in her deep dream eyes

 Brown as comfort

Drinking in my every all

Deep into her sigh upon perfumed sigh

Comes then sleep pillow kissed prayer

Comes then every longest forever never night

Wide asleep wretched until the bright of morn

Beneath her Contemptuous Gaze

entry picture

Somewhere underfoot beneath her contemptuous gaze

Grinding and crushing

Blood rushing to her head

Misting bloody red

Wine and roses lay scattered

Dreams and schemes splattered

Left then right spinning into the vicious plight awaiting

Cold, colder yet as cruellest roaring sea

Light her slender form struck out at me

Red pretty toenails sharp as razors pledge th...

Brightlight Bad Dream

entry picture

Lay Lay

Rings and stings and things that jingle

Fly me chromium plated to the start

Wet and warm beneath tangerine streets

Head and shoulders above the rest

Lay Lay

Trickling and tickling and things that glow

Burnt out gas blue...

A Sure Sign of Fair Weather

entry picture

Through the small scullery window above the gleaming Belfast china sink, I could see clear across the River Medina on Saturday mornings.

'A sure sign of fair weather', my mother would say.

She was always right; it never rained on Saturday mornings.

Instead of rain, my father, who was separated from my mother, would visit us, straight off the night shift ostensibly to give my mother ...

A World,s Turn Away

entry picture

The velvet dusted sleeve of night

Dark and darker yet to light the moon

Bejewelled silken cuff of ocean

Whets the appetite of dream

Vivid beneath all heavens splendour

Vivid beneath satin dancing splashes

Soft agin warm earth's mantle

Skirts of bright embroidered ruby

Skirts of bright all jet and golden

Rose lace billows petticoat dawn...

Flowers in the Rain

entry picture

Loveliness alights

Kiss

Soft upon trembling lip

Sweetness

Flowers in the rain

Deepest red

The sun honey darkest amber

Gold sweeps edges of night

Moon clouds stealing starlight

Where under

Lovers

 Dream sleep

Until  morning never comes

Flowers in the Rain

entry picture

Loveliness did kiss them

Light upon trembling lip

Sweetness

Flowers in the rain

Deepest red

The sun honey darkest amber

Gold sweeps edges of night

Moon clouds stealing starlight

Where under

Lovers

 Dream sleep

Bucket and Spade (Childhood)

entry picture

I recall the rain

Crying into my dreams

No charabanc for me

No trip to the sea

Squalling

The gusting wind scattered my broken heart

All ways like grains of sand

My bucket and spade

Laid

Hand in hand upon my bedroom floor

Raged a Wind

entry picture

In a time of gone forgotten

Black the dark before the first dawn

Black the delirium and the fury

Raged a wind so cold and cruel

Beneath the torment in the heavens

Beneath the everlasting storm

Came there flame and billowing sulphurs

Came there stench and vile chaos

In a time of gone forgotten

Wherein putrid groun...

Wave Over Wave (To the memory of a very good friend of mine that I never met)

entry picture

Wave over wave

Stretching to measure time the darkness

Searching salt raw edges of the sea

Yellowing his ragged memories

Dream a once ago that had been kinder

Wave over wave

Watchers gather upon still waters

Weaving his love and lives to wear

Laying his lonely angel sleeping

Moments ebb and tide waits for no man

Wave over wave

...
